Sky Hotel Tirana

Sky Hotel Tirana is a very practical base, especially if you like being able to walk almost everywhere without feeling stuck in traffic noise. The hotel sits neatly between the city centre and Air Albania Stadium, both within easy walking distance. It’s on a road, but not on a big main road, so evenings are noticeably quieter and early mornings pass without much traffic. For me, that’s a good balance: close enough to be handy, far enough to sleep. There’s a café bar at the front, and the restaurant (where breakfast is served) is up on the 18th floor in the business tower. The 360-degree views are genuinely excellent and clearly attract plenty of evening visitors as well. At times this meant queues for the single lift — not a major issue, but worth knowing. The rooms are large, with a bed and a seating area. In my room, the small table in the seating area was a bit wobbly, but overall everything worked as it should. The desk was large enough for proper working, which made it easy to use the room as a base for a few hours. You’re close to restaurants, a supermarket, and everyday amenities, and most of the city centre is easy to reach on foot. My customer was about a 30-minute walk away, which I didn’t mind at all — early mornings and evening rush hour are good times to take in the city’s atmosphere. Wi-Fi worked well throughout, which is important here as mobile data can become expensive depending on your provider — especially if you rely on connectivity for work. Verdict: a well-located, practical hotel with good working space and great views, clearly geared towards business travellers. Would I stay again? Yes — for work, absolutely.

Hotel is located in city centre with lots of amenities and interesting places to visit all within walking distance. The hotel is a nice hotel with nice big rooms with high ceilings and good views of the city. But there were issues which were not sorted out. The plastic key for did not work from the second night. When I went to reception the man there reluctantly stoppscrolling on his phone and eventually took his fet down off the desk and found me a normal metal key so that I could enter my room. I had to use te metal key for the remainder of my stay. The security lock on the inside of the bedroom door was broken and I had to put a chair behind the door as security. The room safe door was open and the locks were locked and I could not use it. There was no wardrobe. The only thing to hang clothes on was some industrial piping with very few hangers. The only drawers were at floor level and very user unfriendly. I reported the issue with door locks and safe a number of times but absolutely no action was taken. At breakfast time the so called hot food was cold as nobody turned on the bain Marie. Male staff in the bar on the 18th floor were unhelpful, discourteous and slow. It would be very easy to rectify these issues but nobody seemed to be interested. There seemed to be nobody in charge . It could be easy to change the hotel if there was enough interest in doing so. The people of Tirana are very nice and friendly. Good food is available at reasonable prices and there is a widee variety of places to eat. Lovely cable car ride up and down the mountain. I will be going back to Tirana but not to the Sky hotel. Hopefully there will be direct flights from Ireland to Tirana in the near future.

Had a lovely stay at Sky Hotel. In particular, Miss Klodiana who served at the Sky club restaurant, during breakfast, was very friendly. She made my friends and I feel very welcomed and always remembered the drinks we liked. She was also very kind to teach us Albanian words whenever we asked. She's really a star! NG

Would have rated higher is not for the building work going on in the hotel at the time of our visit. There were little irritations such as a non working safe and curtains that didn’t quite close, but staff did their utmost to sort things out. All the staff were pleasant and polite, and the room was cleaned well. Breakfast was average, it would have been nice to have had a few choices of Albanian breakfast. Coffee was good as it was everywhere in Tirana. The Sky Bar and viewing platform are well worth a visit, drinks are expensive but worth it for the view.

Had a lovely couple of drinks here in both the day time and the evening. Spectacular views of the whole of Tirana. Beautiful! Drinks are more pricey than other places but you pay for the view and service. Would definitely recommend visiting and seeing Tirana from a great height.
