The hotel is in a good location, within walking distance of the shops if you want to pick up souvenirs. On arrival, we enjoyed a delicious tea while the reception staff dealt with check-in formalities. They were extremely friendly. A special thank you goes to the lady who helped us with the connection to the wi-fi, as our equipment did not want to work with it. Our room was very spacious and clean with all the amenities a traveller would need. The toiletries were of good quality, we loved them. The food was enjoyable, especially for Indian tastes. International and vegetarian options were also available and portions were generous. We had some communication problems with the staff at the in-house restaurant, but no big deal. Note that there are lifts at the hotel, which is not a common feature in Bhutan.

We, a family of 6, 2 senior citizens, 2 adults, 1 9yr kid and 1 infant stayed in Khamsum Thimpu and Khamsum Paro in April 2024 End. Their manager Mrs. Usmita was very cordial during our stay. The rooms given to us were fantastic. Being a Veg Hotel, amazing Jain food was easily available at their restaurant. For a few local dishes, Mrs Usmita actually went out of the menu and made us enjoy the delicacies. (For Jains like me, there is a veg cafe named Mountain Cafe, very close by at both places which even has a Jain / Vegan Menu) Mrs Usmita helped arrange for one of the best Hot Stone Baths in Paro for all of us. My 9 year kid too enjoyed it a lot. Absolute value for money hotel. A must book place for Jain, Vegan and Vegetarian travellers.
Great location in the centre, but still quiet. Lovely welcome from staff, easy check-in and even a blessing by the hotel monk which I admit could have been a bit cringey, but on the contrary it was unexpectedly deligjtful. Our room is excellent. It looks to me that the hotel has been recently improved, all new decoration, some furnishings. It's hard to fault. Overriding all of this, the friendliness and helpfulness of the whole staff made our stay one to remember. If I'm Thimpu, stay here!

Warm Cozy home...away from home! An excellent property which was a traditional Bhutanese house converted into a small hotel and has the warm and cozy feeling of a home away from home. Excellent traditional architecture and wooden rooms made it really warm for us when it was sub zero temperature outside. They provided us with all the facilities and the staff went beyond our expectations to make our stay comfortable. The heaters in the room and bathroom worked really well. Located right behind the main Thimphu Dzong at a quaint location. A special thanks to the owner Mr. Norbu and the manager Mr. Pema to the chef Mr. Nado who made traditional dishes with less spice as per our request. Overall a must stay property at Thimphu. Our heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Sonam and Ms. Chuki too. Thank you :-)
WOW. What else can you say? Arrived after a long day of sightseeing and was informed that all members of our group had been upgraded to a villa. The villas a free standing buildings on the grounds away from the hotel, and they take you to them in a golf buggy so you don't have to walk. The villas are HUGE! I couldn't believe this whole space was just for me. You get a lounge room, huge bathroom with claw foot bath and separate shower and toilet, a bedroom with a king sized bed and your own massage room! There is also a small butlers pantry for the use of the butler attached to your villa. One of my favorite things was actually that there is a space in the bathroom for your luggage so you don't have to mess up your sleeping space with your suitcase. You can really spread out your belongings and hang stuff up and there's room for more than one bag. The resort is high on a hill and the view from the bath is amazing. Had dinner at the restaurant one night and it was lovely as well as drinks at the bar. The staff were also really friendly and helpful. They also have an archery range so you can try Bhutan's national sport which I thought was really cool. The only thing with this place, and it's not a complaint just something to be aware of, is that it's really far out of town. It's not walkable to get into Paro so you will need to catch a taxi - I think they may have a shuttle, but don't quote me on that. I did manage to have a look at the hotel rooms, which to be honest are a bit plain and dated for the price being charged (the villas most certainly are not at all). They have a pool and the spa looks nice too, but didn't have time to try either of these. The only small problem I had was it took far too long for them to get the luggage to our rooms. We had been hiking and then rafting that day and had a short turn around at the hotel to get changed before attending a business dinner in Paro. It came time to leave and my luggage still had not arrived. I was still damp, sweaty and quite a mess and there was no way I could go out like that, especially to a business function. My luggage eventually arrived and I was forced to have the quickest shower of my life and run (couldn't wait for the buggy) to reception to meet my group and guide - I wasn't even the last one to arrive. Overall, it was a small thing that was annoying, but didn't really taint my experience of what was otherwise an absolutely wonderful stay.
Location - excellent food - average. The food needs variety and taste. Service- varies. Poor- any minor change from the menu served, they levy extra charge. Good- room service is prompt. Hygiene - the towels are not very fresh and bathroom does not smell very fresh, maybe due to poor ventilation in the bathroom. Amenities: the resort needs to keep a luggage weighing scale for international travellers. The property has been an orchard and farm house. Morning walks are good within the resort.

The Willow Hotel offers a superb experience with its central location, inviting ambiance, and comfortable rooms equipped with quality amenities. The well-designed restaurants serve delicious food, complemented by a friendly staff and efficient management. Undoubtedly, it stands out as the best place to stay for a memorable and enjoyable visit.
Central location right on the main road. Big rooms with spacious bathroom. Rooms, public places, restaurant were clean, neat and tidy. Helpful staff. Sharmila at the reception and Tina in the restaurant were very helpful. From the room one could see the road below and mountains around. Quality of food in the restaurant could be better. Go little late but in time and regular items like butter and jam will vanish until requested replenishment arrives.
CCharles_and_SusanThe hotel is near the centre of Thimphu. It's a thoroughly modern hotel. The rooms are large and well equipped. I'm not sure which grade rooms we had as we were on a guided tour and so didn't do the booking. When we were there it was very cold for those two nights and we were provided with an electric heater for the room. Unfortunately our large room was on a corner with two external walls full of glass and very high ceilings - the heater couldn't really manage to keep us warm. We had extra duvets too and only just managed to keep warm in bed. Other people in our group managed to be warm enough in their rooms but ours (504) was definitely cold. That aside, the food was good and the location OK.
