This was one of our favorite places on our trip. The lodge is on a cliff with a lovely view of lake taupo. The lodge is beautifully appointed, both our suite and the living room and balcony were delightful. Canapés and wine were served nightly on the balcony. We had also reserved dinner for one nite. Do not miss the dinner. The owners are the cooks and they excel. Be sure to book ahead. Breakfast was also delightful. We cannot recommend this lodge more highly. Thank you Neal and Stephanie!

Small hotel located on a cliff top with gorgeous views from the bedroom of the Lakeview rooms. These rooms are small but the view makes up for that. We stayed in the Garden view room too which was bigger and lovely but without the stunning views. Only 4 suites in the hotel. The owners made dinner for us one night which was delicious. The breakfasts are included and are great. Very special place.

Our stay at the Acacia Cliffs Lodge was a 100% enjoyable experience in every way. Neil and Stephanie were great hosts at their home overlooking Lake Taupo. Dinner and breakfast were top notch - some of the best gourmet meals we had during our trip to New Zealand. Highly recommend Acacia Cliffs Lodge for anyone visiting the Lake Taupo area.

Absolutely lovely place with fantastic views. Staff were amazing and it was very social as they offer drinks and canapés at around 6pm where everyone gets chatting about their trips. The only downside is that the lodge is a long way from town so you either need to drive or eat at the hotel. If you want to eat at the hotel you need to let them know in advance of your stay.

We have just left Acacia Cliffs Lodge & can’t wait to return later in the week. The lodge is perfectly positioned high on a cliff overlooking the beautiful Acacia Bay, Lake Taupo, only a 15 minute drive from Taupo, but away from streets full of motels, pretend lodges & tourists. We drove up a lovely winding driveway amongst established trees & arrived at Acacia Cliffs Lodge where we were greeted by Stephanie, who is the most gracious host, along with her husband Neal. Our room was a generous size with a balcony that overlooks the lake & the only sound we could hear was that of Tuis & other lovely little NZ birds in the surrounding bush. The peace here is all-enveloping. The bed was so comfortable & the bathroom was perfect with excellent amenities & products. Besides owning the property, Neal is the chef & cooked the most delicious breakfast. They also do dinners so if you are going to stay there be sure to pre-book. This is now our favourite hotel to stay in when in Taupo.

Absolutely loved our stay, Neil and Stephanie were great hosts and spoilt us with amazing breakfast and afternoon drinks/canapés every day! Stunning views and great facilities, both the rooms and common lounge are fantastic and just 7 minutes drive from town center

Beyond gorgeous, very helpful staff. Excellent daily breakfast. Excellent pre dinner snack and house label wines Well appointed and comfortable rooms and common areas. Highly recommended location as just a 15 min drive from central Taupo

Our stay at Acacia Cliffs Lodge was amazing. From check in till check out everything was perfect, the view was splendid and the breakfast made with love. We felt that the hosts love what they do. The room was neat and the hosts offered us wine and beer and were lovely. We definitely recommend Acacia Cliffs Lodge, a home away from home. Greetings from Austria, Maria & Josef (1.12-3-12.) (we booked a tour through New Zealand and 2 nights in Taupo was definitely too short!!!)

The property is absolutely incredible. Neil & Stephanie are so kind. Breakfast is amazing. Our room was hands down one of the best places I have ever stayed anywhere in the world! And I have been to all 7 continents! Staying at Acacia Cliffs Lodge is a must if you are in Taupo.
