It's a nice update of what looks like an older motel. The "suite" room was nice, but small, with a balcony and view of the lake. Bathroom also small. Restaurant looked nice, but unable to use as listed hours and stated hours at check-in were incorrect. Our check-in was confusing - initially appeared our room was not available or had been allocated to someone else, and we received incorrect information about restaurant hours. Signage and the duty manager both informed us our included breakfast was available starting at 7am, however when we went to breakfast at 715am we were coldly informed it actually opens later. As we had a drive to proceed with, we ate elsewhere and got on the road. Alas, such service is par for the course in New Zealand, where service is usually underwhelming to adequate.
