the hotel staff were really accommodating and accepted all our request without any issues or concerns at all. It was a short trip but worth it to be able to travel to Tagum. Will definitely select this hotel again once we got back.

we stayed only for 1 night. service was good, they upgraded us to 7 floor.. staff was friendly but the room has big crack, water was color gray well they inform me during check in let ut run for few minutes until becuase clear.. i dont know whats going on with there water system..also no water heater so they provided a basin and pail so can reheat the water thru water kettle if want to have hot shower...lol.....price is more expensive than good hotel in davao ...

It is verty clean , staff were really friendly and accommodate your needs very well, amenities and facilities are very well maintained . Breakfast is good . We had fun in the pool.

Everything was good but just a little noisy at morning because its in front of the main highway
I am a USA traveler. There is not much to choose from in the Tagum area. in the way of hotels. Big 8 SOUNDED like it was a USA Hotel ? But I have my doubts. The Hotel @ one time had to be magnificent. Sure it is old and decaying. But I can live with that. What I can't stand is having to pay big money for an old hotel, and not able to take a hot shower. On top of a ice cold shower, the shower doors wouldn't stay shut and slid open and flooded the whole bathroom. Maintenance could not fix this. So we had to stuff towels in the opening. But it still made a messy flooded bathroom. I came here to read the reviews concerning the hot water. "temporary out of service. We are in May, I was there in January. 5 months and you can't fix the hot water heater ? We know now that is a B.S. story. Stop telling your customers that. You have no hot water, you won't fix the hot water, but you want to charge the same price as if you DID have hot water. Everyone who worked there was as pleasant as possible. The buffet and food was not the worst in the world. It's typical Asian fish and rice centric. I went for the eggs, potatoes and waffles and breads. Rice clogs me up, and it's a bit too much sugar intake. The food was edible for a USA steak and potatoes person like myself. The service ? I loved everyone ,security, everyone. The pool was great ,the gym has some rotted wood floors. It's obvious this hotel is struggling financially. From no hot water and no wifi to a pool that is a bit past it's prime to a gym on the second floor that has rotted floors, something is going on here financially ? Sell the hotel Big 8. You are not using it properly. Allow someone to spend a few thousand USD and repair things. Wifi works locally,so that is a lie. Hot water can only be a hot water heater. China has to be able to supply a few hot water heaters easily. Replace the rotted wood in the gym before someone falls thru,you have weights up there and people handling alot of weights working out with machines that are heavy too. So the roof or windows are leaking too. There are Filipino's dying to go to work for some labor work. Get in and fix the place or sell it.

We went to Tagum to attend the wake of our aunt. We chose Big 8 Corporate Hotel because we saw a lot of excellent reviews about the hotel. We also read that its a 3-star hotel in Tagum. Naturally, we expected an experience that is worthy of a 3-star hotel. Unfortunately, it was a big let down. The first room they gave us has a window with a broken lock. Then they transferred us to a different room with a broken airconditioner. The airconditioner errored multiple times in the middle of the night. Imagine the sleepless night to check if the kids are sweating in their sleep. And apparently you can't charge anything in your room. Everything is cash basis. Their restaurant is cash basis. Their pool is cash basis. We also got locked out of our room. The keycard just stopped working. When I got to the receptionist, there was no empathy. It felt like it was a regular thing in a 3-star hotel. I would not recommend this hotel. Our experience was horrible.

It is great hotel. 60 minutes by car from Davao airport, on the main road so the location is easy. Very big property, highly professional staff, F&B is also very well done. The rooms are slightly old with furniture but not an issue for me. They have a big swimming pool for adults, small/splash pool for kids, Gym is available. The best part about the hotel I liked was their Coffee shop. They have their own in house bakery and I believe own branded coffee beans as well. Within a couple of minutes of walk, they have two big malls, yellowcab, McD and Jollybee. The only thing I did not like was their Wifi is out of service and hot water in bathroom is not available. I know they say it is temporary and are working to resolve but I went there to stay two times in three months and both issues were still present. I hope they fix this soon. All in all, a very good hotel and my first preference in Tagum city.

Hotel service is so bad. They only give 1 key card and they charge 1000 deposit for another one. WTH for a piece of plastic. Room needs upgrading. Shower head also needs cleaning. For 3500 a night, breakfast is also not worth it. Saw guests who looked displeased upon seeing the buffet. Only ate 2 sunny side up eggs as other food doesnt seem to be delicious. Service in the resto is fine.
