Feels like I’m staying in a nightclub. I’m in a room above the gym and there is a constant buzz and thump. I’ve spoken to reception and politely asked them to turn the music down, but 30 minutes later it’s still thumping away. Gym closes at 10pm so will have to wait until then! Couldn’t be less comfortable and relaxing. So disappointed in customer service too.
Great location, lovely clean and comfortable room. Perfect for what we needed during our brief stay in Portsmouth. Free parking was a great addition. We had a good nights sleep and the breakfast in the morning was very, very good. Throughly recommend a stay here. Really helpful and friendly staff
ผผู้เข้าพักThe Ibis Budget Hotel, is a very basic hotel as implies in the name. It's convenient for the accessing the Ferry, town centre by bus. Fratton station with trains to London is less than a10min walk.
There is no fancy trimmings here. The room was small, but clean. Offered a continental breakfast.
Located in walking distance from supermarket and fast food restaurants.
The Bus 1 goes from Gunwharf Ferry to the Southsea Pier; but be careful. This bus changes to a Bus 3 at the Southsea Pier. It carries on another hour plus towards Southampton etc.
All in all, the hotel offered my family a good rest after a long day out. The bottom double bed was very comfortable. Perhaps the bunk bit is not best suited to a teenager.
TThe AceGreat location, not much parking but the sell permits for £5. I was in the house around the corner from the hotel. Stairs were a bit creaky and it was the most soundproof.
I found the hotel absolutely fine. Food was good, try the Japanese menu while you are there (it is owned by a Japanese family) . Staff, contrary to other comments on here, were excellent, friendly and very polite. Some of the decor needed attention but you get scuffed paintwork in most hotels. The situation is ideal if you are sightseeing 400 yds from Naval Dockyard museum area with Victory, Mary Rose and Warrior. Buy an annual ticket to the whole thing only £45 which includes ferry across the bay to Gosport submarine exhibit. We stayed two nights and towels changed both mornings. I judge hotel bathrooms by the towels and these were large and fluffy better than in some other more expensive hotels! Overall I would recommend this for a short stay in the heart of Portsmouth sightseeing area.
