Cute hotel that is centrally located. I was worried about the noise of being downtown, but it was really pretty quiet after about 10:30pm. The beds were a bit softer than I like, but we had a great stay.

Don’t overlook this property! It has spacious rooms in a building with tons of character. Restaurants and brew pubs are easy to walk to.

I have stayed here on numerous occasions over the years. I like the location, and I have felt the price is more than fair for the comfort and style of the hotel. This time was not their best, though. Check in was fine. I discovered the first night my tv was not working, so I told the desk the next morning about it. The 2nd night-no change, so no one looked at it. I ended up figuring out that it was unplugged at the tv itself, so no big deal. I also wanted a snack, so I went down to the desk to ask about vending. The lady working the desk was knitting, and when I asked she didn't even look up from her knitting and just curtly said "no". Ok. Also, the mattress in my queen room was LONG past the point of needing replaced-completely broken down on one side. It is a shame, as I really love supporting this place, but I am going to think twice about staying here my next trip to Spokane.

Love staying at Montvale when I visit Spokane. The hotel is quiet and a walkable distance from the shops and convention center.

This is a great building with spacious rooms, especially with the extra high ceilings. The common area on the second floor creates a second lobby of sorts, and has interesting art and furniture. If you're looking for a nice place at a reasonable cost, give this historic spot a try.

Great location~ walkable to downtown, Riverfront Park, Centennial Trail, restaurants, etc.
Definitely recommend & will stay at The Montvale again

This old building with great character offers lovely updated rooms and a private living room outside the door— comfortable seating, quality art and so much old-school charm.
The Gilded Unicorn restaurant in the basement was charming. Great food and drinks too.
Only negative—the other two eateries advertised on the premises are currently closed for renovations.

Our stay at the Montvale Hotel was wonderful. The history behind the hotel was what drew our attention to it. Being close to lots of restaurants and events was a big plus.

Great location. Charming building but REALLY noisy on the second floor, squeaky floors above (3rd floor), thin walls (can hear others’ conversations), the room is big but smells musty. Upon arrival, the person on the front desk greeted us this way: “Hi, ID and credit card?” Unwelcoming. Not the greeting you expect upon check-in.
