We booked a single night's stay at this hotel to visit family in Maidenhead. The hotel was clean, comfortable and in a wonderful setting on the river. We were all made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived, Ashley on reception was friendly and made us feel at home. We only ate breakfast in the restaurant but this was enjoyed by all, including my fussy children. We will stay again on our next family visit.

Cleanliness - 3/5. For the most part the room was clean and looked amazing. However, underneath the bed and behind some furniture there was a lot of dust.
Location - 5/5. We wanted a hotel in the vicinity of Goring and it delivered. Being next to the river is also a bonus.
Service - 5/5. We didn't require much staff service but when we did, e.g. check in or check out, they were both friendly and efficient.
Amenities - 3/5. I was very happy with the amenities provided in the room. There was a good selection of teas, coffees and biscuits, and there was milk in the fridge. However, my fridge made noise all night long and kept me awake, so despite the advantage of having a room with a fridge, it was quite an uncomfortable experience.

The hotel and restaurant are excellent. The staff are courteous, friendly, efficient and welcoming - not stuffy. The junior suite was elegant and very comfortable. Dinner was excellent (as always) and the wine superb.
ผผู้เข้าพักThe talkhouse was a really homely accommodation right outside of Oxford. The room was exactly like the pictures. The staff were incredibly helpful and I must say the showers is probably one of the best I’ve had in the uk. (Proper water pressure, temperature and drainage so I’m not swimming in my own filth). Also have a drink or dinner at the pub, it’s seems to be a popular favourite amongst the locals as well. One thing to note for light sleepers, the rooms are side by side so you might hear your neighbours & it is right by the road so you’ll be able to hear vehicles at busier times.
ผผู้เข้าพักAfter visiting quite a few spa hotels for one night spa breaks I can honestly say this way by far the worst. To start- the 'spa'- the pool was freezing, as were the showers. The hot tub was out of order (and seems to be a common thing here looking at past reviews). Everybody we spoke to in the pool was shocked at the water temperature and lack of facilities, a spa should be relaxing not make you feel as though you need to do laps just to stay warm. As a result everyone was trying to use the sauna at once and so it was overcrowded in there. The restaurant- It's more like a conference room that the staff have carried some tables into for the evening, nothing about the room we sat in said restaurant. During our evening meal they brought out bread to the table and upon asking whether I could eat it if I can't have milk they said no and offered me a piece of dry toast instead. Breakfast was also poor. 'Bar/Lounge'- There is no bar here, unless you class the room full of men jumping up and down shouting at football on the tv, and glasses piled high on tables whilst staff stood around. Not exactly the 'spa' feel we expected. It was loud, dirty and overcrowded. Room- The room was clean and basic. All seemed fine until we went to bed, at around 1am the TV switched itself on, very loud and we had to search for the remote. This happened multiple times throughout the night and so by the morning we were absolutely exhausted. I mentioned this to reception and was told there is no fault with the TV. (They weren't the ones dealing with it in the middle of the night!) I raised my complaint to reception, I asked for a manager and was given a head cleaner instead. There was very little acknowledgement of any of my points, the emails following my departure were very defensive rather than just accepting that this is not at all what you expect from a spa. I do not therefore believe it should be advertised as such. I was eventually given a £17 refund along with another email disputing my claims. Terrible place, I will steer clear and advise others to do the same.
Lovely stay, hotel was very clean and such a quiet location no busy road to keep you awake parking was also free which is a bonus and very handy to have the asda opposite to grab a bite to eat also the harvester is right next door staff all friendly and welcome you with a smile
