Hotel la Meridiana

location is good which is not far from train & bus station. lemon farms right opposite to hotel is a bonus. however, rooms were not clean enough esp the blankets covering the bed were quite dirty. neither complimentary water bottle nor kettle in room was a minus. despite having air-con, it's forbidden to be turned on until summer months. somehow some towels smell cheesy tho looks clean in appearance. breakfast is pretty good

The hotel is in a very good position, being a 5 minute walk from the centre of Sorrento, the hotel is clean, slightly old fashioned but this is fine. It is very busy outside but the price you pay for being close to the centre. The reception staff were all really knowledgeable and very helpful, polite and courteous.The lady who cleaned our room was also very pleasant, the rooms were cleaned to a good standard. I thought the breakfast choice was excellent, something for everyone. The big problem we found was with this hotel was the evening meal! It was rarely hot, you chose the 3 courses for dinner at breakfast, there was always a good choice, but the meals were just poor, the main course was small, one day counting 5 chips, you choose a time to eat at the beginning of your stay, being 6.45 or 8 pm. there is no a**osphere in the dining room and as soon as you put your knife and fork down, your plate is whisked away and then your next course arrives, no chance to take a minute . The waiting staff stand around, waiting to jump into action, it is not a pleasurable experience, and this really is the only bad thing I can find, but it did make a big difference to our holiday. The air conditioning does not come on till later in the summer, and the roof terrace was not open either, when I queried this, the reception staff said ,it would open later In the summer, which was a shame , as it was very hot when we were there. Finally the hotel uses type L plugs , so normal European adapters don't work!

The hotel was clean and the staff very friendly. We walked everywhere. The town center is about an 8 to 10 minute walk.

Good place for a night or two. What you expect from a mid-level hotel.

Excellent location, clean, spacious rooms, excellent service

It was comfortable and location is central. Very convenient and close to shops and the warf.
