It was a nice stay at Sepilok in a perfectly located lodge. Rooms seem old and run down but the outside is incredible. Swimming pool is a big plus but unfortunately closes at 5pm only.

The room was comfortable, clean, and suitable for a relaxing getaway surrounded by nature. I also really enjoyed the environment of the resort. The peaceful jungle atmosphere and beautiful surroundings made the stay even more memorable. The food at the restaurant was also good, with satisfying meals and a nice dining experience. Overall, I had an enjoyable stay and would definitely recommend this resort to anyone visiting Sepilok.

The 1980s called to say this resort needed to stay there when it was in its prime, now it just needs to be demolished. Not much to add beyond the other bad reviews, booked an overpriced "deluxe" room, it came with a broken shower screen, grey towels and bedding and bugs that keep you company in the wee hours of the morning. I would complain about the staff but it seems that unfriendly and dismissive is the level of service you get in Sabah, which to me came as a surprise after experiencing great service and accommodation in Sarawak. Restaurant food is edible, but nothing special. The hotel does cater mainly to westerners but some of us don't want white bread, baked beans and fried eggs for breakfast, I think the Orangutans have a better diet in Sepilok. You need to add instant coffee to the coffee on the buffet in order to turn it into drinkable coffee as otherwise it's just dirty water. The grounds of the hotel are actually nice but I would rather not see a sign saying there was a vicious dog around. Stray dogs are an issue in Sepilok, Pool is dirty and poorly maintained. Housekeeping will only get around to servicing your room at about 3 to 5pm, hotel should consider hiring more staff if they can't clean all the rooms in a timely fashion. Overall a very sad hotel with terrible maintenance and service standards.

Impressive facility in the middle of the jungle. The premises are huge with lakes, a restaurant, a large common area, a large pool, different kinds of rooms. They offer night tours of the property and even during the day it's possible to see wild animals and birds. Good breakfast, clean room and very close to the Orangutan and Sunbear centres.

Loved this place in sepilok. Very close to orangutan sanctuary and rainforest discovery centre. Very jungle vibe, saw oriental pied hornbill in the carpark. Lots of wildlife around.

I had a peaceful place. The place is beautiful and close to the orangutan centre. However, even though I paid for a private room, I did not have and AC in the room, It was quite difficult to sleep because of the heat. That wasn't nice at all. Then I moved to a cheaper hostel somewhere else in a private room and I had a AC paying less. Please you should invest in AC for all the rooms, it's quite hot in there.

Our second stay was way better than our first stay. We definitely recommend the deluxe double room. There is still room for staff improvements. In terms of luggage, there is a long was with stairs up and down to the rooms. But the location is great and you are really near to the sanctuaries. We still took an grab, since it was over 30° and it was only 4-5RM.

Really fun place to stay and well worth staying in sepilok rather than in city in sandakan. So close to all the sanctuaries it made the day trips really easy. The hotel itself is really lovely and has charm to it. The grounds are very nice too with all the jungle enclosing on it. The pool was lovely too, it was fun to swim in a pool in the jungle. Only side note is that you are not near anything so you will probably eat at the hotel restaurant every day which can get boring. But that is very small issue for what was such a cool, unique and fun stay. The WiFi was also pretty good considering.

Awesome place, extended immediately. Beautiful jungle vibe, close to orangutan rehabilitation center and with some luck like we did you will see orangutans at the hotel pool

All good, wrest close to the Orangutan and Sun bears rescues centres. We appreciated the swimming pool, the gardens and the quiet atmosphere. We would certainly recommend it.

My stay at Sepilok Jungle Resort was super nice. I loved the swimming pool and the dining area. I booked a standard room- so quite simple but clean. But overall the resort is pretty cool.

Spotlessly clean, with nice staff and a good restaurant. The swimming pool is a Wonder after sweating all day long!

The perfect place to stay in Sandakan. Perfect location for the orangutans, very friendly staff, great food at the restaurant, stunning pool area and spacious, comfortable rooms. 👍
