I recently had my wedding here and what a beautiful venue and food. However, I have to say that the communication from the contact we used for the wedding was poor. It took a few attempts to actually get an appointment on a few occassions (my e mails going unanswered), then when I did get an appointment, said person didn't turn up as they forgot! I didn't get a personal apology for this which would of been polite. I have also sent an e mail to them since my wedding stating something I was unhappy with and advising on something simple that could of improved the issue and have still not received a response. (Issue was as I was saying my vows I could see straight past my husband through the glass in the doors and people in the restaurant were leaning over the tables watching us as well as waiters. It was slightly off putting and just a curtain or even paper up at the window would of been a simple solution. For such a high standard venue I would expect communication to of been much better!
We arrived to find that of our 3 rooms booked and paid for only 2 were available and the other had been sold to another. They made up an disused room for us to replace this sold room. However instead of the ”deluxe room” booked we had a room used for the homeless by the council which was confirmed by the staff. The facilities are very basic and some dont work. Some rooms are better than others. We had 3 rooms. Our bathroom light was intermittent, the bathroom handle was hanging off. The paint is peeling in all rooms. My daughters room was awful and we did not use it. Her bedroom window did not close even at the end of October when cold; The light on the stairway (with no windows) did not work, so the stairs were total darkness; The shower did not work and was hanging off the wall with bare wires; The tv was missing, The carpet was totally disgusting and was covered in so many stains that you didn't want to take your shoes off; Basic kitchen facilities are missing eg no bowls (had to use a lunch box to eat our cereal), other guests are loud and disrepectful... Hairs in the sink and shower; Skid marks in the toilet; Sheets are un-ironed (but a minor point considering); Communal kitchens are a disgrace and not fit for use, microwave disgusting, grease everywhere. No natural light in our room as the blind would not go up, however in another room there was no blind at all, so the light came in the room very early. We only wanted somewhere comfortable to sleep, the location was not so important, however if this is important you need to know this is on a forecourt of a petrol station. The firedoor which said to keep closed, was propped open with the fire extinguisher, which not only meant the door was not closed but there was also a blockage in the doorway. I hate having to leave a negative review but this property just isn't up to the basic standards. The only positives the bed was reasonably comfortable and the room temperature was fine in the rooms where the window closed. Wifi was OK.
Link up with all the business and leisure locations of Lincolnshire with a stay at the Premier Inn Hotel Scunthorpe. Close to the town centre, and right on hand for the M180 and A15, you'll be well placed for a short jaunt or exploring further afield. You could catch a show at the Baths Hall or Plowright Theatre. Take a trip across the Humber to Hull. Or visit the historical delights of Lincoln. Then take it easy with our great combination of tasty on-site restaurant, spacious rooms and big, comfy beds.

I have to say that in general most premier rooms (and i stay in a lot) are the same. It is the location, staff, cleanliness and wifi that are important to me. I say wifi as i travel for business and a good connection is important. The PI at Lakeside is a good location, easy to get to and has various shops, gyms etc within a short hop. The lady at check in was lovely (sorry i did not get her name) and the room was clean as i had expected. For me the let down with PI is that they provide awful basic wifi and then look to get you to pay for enhanced wifi. In most cases i end up tethering from my mobile but the signal was rubbish in the room i was in. This was the block of rooms across from the main building. So all i would ask is that the PI group look to bring the standard wifi up to something that resembles normal workable speed.
It's a quiet and cosy hotel. Good views. Staff was okay. Didn't seem to make eye contact which I thought was bizarre. The cocktails were great, food was overpriced and disappointing, definitely poor quality compare to other places nearby, especially when they struggle to make steak. Small portions. Our room was clean, but there were plenty of irritating bits. Our bed was pushed together which made it not very comfortable as a couple. No toiletries in the room!!! No tootbrushes, tootpaste, shower cap, box of tissues, slippers, etc. So be warned! Also such a nice bath but not even a tiny bag of bath salts to use! Why noy support small businesses in the area and acquire some? Shower took forever to warm up. Sealant along the shower and bath should really get replaced and poorly picked radiators with loads of trapped dust next to fresh clean towels. And why are we still using the disgusting non slip rubber mats?! Coffee bags were gross. Pillows were nice and fluffy. No air conditioning in the room and turned off at the restaurant too on a warm and humid day made the stay uncomfortable at times.
