I arrived at the hotel on Friday 23/2. I immediately noticed there was an issue with the air conditioning - it was switched on and blowing out air at room temperature, even when on the lowest setting. I reported the issue to reception, and they had an engineer investigate, although when I returned, the issue was still present. Further to this, the room does not have blackout blinds / curtains, so the sun would heat the room in the day. This was just the first problem. I realised on day two, that the lights in the bed area were faulty (I was only in the room in the daytime previously). I reported the light issue to reception, they said I could change rooms the following day. In addition to these two main issues, the right hand window does not lock, causing a security concern. Also, the duvet didn’t have a cover on it, so the spikes of the feathers could be felt on my skin causing discomfort. The feathers were also spilling out onto the floor, causing a mess. When given a new room key and air-con remote the next day, I arrived in the new room, tried to test the air-con but the remote didn’t switch the unit on. At this point, I had had enough, and checked out. So in summary; 1. No air-con, with sun heating the room all day (I obviously paid for a room to have this facility). 2. No lights in the main room (this is an obvious requirement for any establishment of any description). 3. A security issue with the window. 4. Uncomfortable bedding. 5. Two days to be given a solution that also had issues. This is an unacceptable service by anyone’s standards.
