"Me & my partner had such an incredible time here! The chalet we had was incredible - such a beautiful, quiet, peaceful & relaxing spot to recharge between trips and before heading to the restaurant in the pousada or into town for the evening and see the beautiful sunset. The room was so clean, a great size and kept to a nice temperature, so you could really unwind when you needed to and had the perfect platform to start the day and the service was really efficient and helpful, whether requesting some items (my partner had coeliacs) or recommendations to explore, whether for day trips, lengthier river cruises or hiking trips. The bar was superb, offering a great mix of local variations on caipirinhas and the food was unreal - definitely try the local delicacies, the Tambaqui was some of the best fish i've had! The area in the pousada itself was so full of wildlife, it really does feel like your exploration of the local nature starts here! As a base to explore the Amazon, I really couldn't recommend it more - it was not too far by car to the Floresta Nacional do Tapajos, the river tours around the area were easily arranged & accessible from the local pier at Alter do Chao and the beaches around Alter do Chao are so beautiful (particularly Ilha do Amor!) especially in sunet. When we went it was between seasons, coming out of the wet season, so the river was still high and the wildlife was just jawdropping. We had such a good time, we plan to return - hopefully sooner rather than later!"

"Extremely disappointing experience. My stay at the Boreale 2 Author Hostel was frustrating from the beginning to the end. Precarious hygiene: rooms are clean only every two days. At one occasion, they even made the work of swallowing bed. This is unacceptable for any hosting. Disorganized and insufficient breakfast: there were about 15 guests and the amount of food served was not even close to all. Example: only 6 tapioca for 15 people. The result was a poor and badly managed breakfast, lack of attention: there is no reception to support or solve problems, the guest is not having anyone to go. In short, it is a badly managed, disorganized and disrespectful hostel with its customers. I do not recommend it in any way. My feeling was totally unrespectful."
