The breakfast buffet options were really limited. Eg, theres only 1 type of chicken and they put very little amount each batch. Had to wait another batch once its finish. Its not worth paying rm25-30 per head for the breakfast. I suggest you go by foot to the nearby places or restaurant for better food options.
I pick this place mainly for its swimming pool, but after seeing the water up close, its SO DIRTY! You can see a lot of phlegm, saliva, dust, hairs, some trash inside the water with algae. THERE WERE LOTS OF HAIRS during my visit. I felt disgusted by the water pool, pls save ur kids from going into the disease-ridden pool. The hotel needs to upgrade their pool- water filter system. Please.
I tried the full body massage service, cost me about RM78, it was okay-ish. Not much to compliment or complaint, it was very average. And they dont use proper massage bed, they use thin mattress placed on the floor. So you cannot put ur face down, u need to put ur face sideways, which made my neck uncomfortable the whole time.
Otherwise room was okay, they need to clean under the bed, as i notice theres A LOT OF trash under the bedframe. The towel seems to be very old, they need to replace it. Looks very worn out.
During my stay, the water pipe had rust in it. It was very rusty for the whole 1 hour, i had to flush it out before the water become usable.
Mind you. Theres a lot of positive things about the place too, but a positive experience should be a given, that a basic standards, so i only point out the things that may ward you off from coming to this place if you're like me.
Im travelling with kids, so I expect more quality service.
If im travelling alone, i really don't care with the downsides of this place.

Location : not too far from kg pukat, seafood bak kut teh, harbour mall; but quite a distance to IJM. A quiet place and not so happening. Overall Sandakan places are quiet and dark when night is approaching.
Service was good, friendly staff. Amenities was quite old but OK in term of management. Room and bathroom are clean.
A great value option for a short stay in Sandakan. You need to get a grab taxi to the main part of town. The room was spacious but there was a bit of a smell. It was great to have air con for such a budget price. The Mubarak restaurant nearby is cheap and tasty. There's a supermarket across the road.
Location is great if you're getting a flight. The room is nice enough and includes toothpaste, shower gel and shampoo (which has been suggested aren't by other guests). Unfortunately they're doing renovations at the moment so there's a bit of noise and the lobby is a bit confusing. Once it's sorted I'm sure it'll be great.
Very clean and lovely hotel with a very nice outdoor pool. I stayed there just for one night. Breakfast was very delicious and variant.
Close to the city center with multiple local restaurants.
Hi, everyone. Our stay was very comfortable and pleasant one. It’s very nice and warm hotel to stay in sandakan city. With affordable price accommodation. Plan your trip and go, enjoy and have a memorable holiday.
ผผู้ใช้ไม่ระบุชื่อThis is the sort of place where the staff will always greet you with ”hello, sir/ma'am” whenever they see you. Nice swimming pool and very good food at the restaurant, even though slightly pricy at first (I guess it's fine being a resort), the portions are actually huge and very fresh. Try their lemon chicken on rice for 20 ringgit (February 2024). All you can eat breakfast included for free even with the dorm bed: fried noodles, a very thick pancake, fruit, British breakfast, beef sausages, coffee, juice, etc. Walk-in price is 80RM, cheaper here on Trip. The dorm looks exactly the same as the one I staid in Kinabatangan, which is always funny (same contractor?). Comfortable night, with a new AC and fan, specially so considering I had it all to myself since the other few guests they had had private accommodation. Dorm showers have plenty of hot water and are clean, but there's no soap or amenities beyond the towel they give you at check-in. Bring your own. The staff at the restaurant sometimes disappears for no reason in the middle of service, even if there's about 20 of them considering réception is right there. They helped me book a taxi to the airport (50 ringgit), since there's no grab available (spent 1h looking for one). Don't bother trying to get one, ask them to call a taxi for you, really. This resort is about 1km away from the three main things to do at sepilok. You will be walking on the side of the road to get anywhere since transportation options are scarce and expensive. Overall this is standard of service here in Borneo, so don't settle for less than this.
AAmyLCAmazing location for the sunbears and Orangutan Sanctuary, just 5 minutes on foot. The pool here is a nice relief from the heat, however there are only about 10 sunbeds and then some seating along the wall, so at times there was nowhere to sit and relax by the pool which was a shame. The room was big, the balcony overlooked jungle type gardens and lots of wildlife could be seen/heard. Tea&coffee was available in the rooms, along with bottled water each day. Food in the restaurant was average. The gardens were beautiful, would stay again.
ผผู้เข้าพักGood hotels for short stays as there are many good restaurants and few grocery shops in this area.
Staff was not super friendly but very helpful.
Just standby some cash as deposit as required upon check-in.
IIzmashiHotel Labuk in Sandakan offers a comfortable and pleasant stay with its modern amenities and friendly staff. The rooms are well-maintained, providing a cozy retreat after a day of exploration. The hotel's location is convenient, close to local attractions and dining options. While the facilities are generally good, the decor a bit dated. Overall, Hotel Labuk provides good value for money.
