"Alaia Belize is a great hotel. Got the ocean view on the 4th floor in building 1. The view is magnificent. The food is great, the staff is awesome and the spa / fitness center is pretty nice too. There is a rooftop pool and after 5pm you'll get the best view of the sun setting. It is very clean and well kept here. Only 1 downside is that Alaia doesn't have a beach. Didn't bother me but if you're looking for a resort with a beach, then this isn't for you but if you're looking for great food and company, go ahead and book your stay here. You won't be disappointed."

"We didn't get the room we booked. The room's window overlooks the stairwell, which is lit up all night, meaning a lot of light and noise; we could hear all the neighbors walking by, both late at night and very early in the morning. Very poor value for money."

"My review is way overdue. We stayed at the resort for 5 days in January 2025. Our room was incredible. We had two full bedrooms, full kitchen and living room. Laundry in the room was a nice touch. Room was incredibly clean, comfortable and kitchen supplies were refilled daily. We really enjoyed happy hour with free drinks before going out for dinner and if I remember correctly there was also complimentary art class and class teaching about cacao beans. But I want to leave a specific THANK YOU to incredible and compassionate staff at the hotel!!! On January 7th while we were out on excursions we learned that our whole city was burning down. We sat by TV for the next two days trying to figure out if we still have a house to go home to. As we learned that we no longer have a home and our whole city burned down in a fire, hotel staff offered an additional, free two day stay for us! As we politely declined because we had to go back to our county they reimbursed us for 2 nights stay to help us get on our feet. We used that money to stay in AirBnB back home at the beginning. Since then as we moved 6 times and still trying to figure out our more permanent situation and get back on our feet, we are very thankful and touched by their gesture in our time of need."

"Perfect location, right on the beach. Very clean and good little breakfast in the morn ing. Close to everything. We walked pretty much everywhere. Directly in front of the hotel is a great sports bar called Palapa Bar and Grill, overlooking the water. Got lucky as I knew nothing about San Pedro and was so pleased with the hotel."

Tres Cocos Resort

"Five Stars at Tres Coco Home of The Dog Cafe, Tres Coco is a cool beachfront resort. It is a little older but very well maintained. Tres Coco is in a nice part of town where there is lots to do if you have a golf cart. The staff is so kind and efficient. It rained some days but they provided us with options for games and in room spa service. Plus the birthday room decor was sooooo lovely with fresh flowers. Our family loved it & Che (the cat) showed us love too each morning. We will return on our next trip for sure."

Aruna Resort & Villas

"My wife and I stayed 9 days at Aruna over the Christmas / New Year holiday. It was a five-star experience. We were lucky to grab one of the bay view rooms which offered 150 degree views from our bed! We actually stayed one night in one of the canal rooms because of a reservation snafu and we loved that room also because it had an outdoor kitchen. Anyway, the rooms were lovely and were pristine every day after maid service. We still reminisce about how much we loved the short boat across ride to and from the hotel. It was a great feeling to come back to the solitude that the location offered and it was only a 5 minute boat ride. What was also pretty cool is that we booked a couple of excursions - an all day fishing and snorkel trip and a guide for bone fishing. In these instances the boats pull up to Aruna's dock and the adventure begins! Anyway, loved that the location is a short distance from downtown and the frequency of boat runs although we could have also called to a one-off pick-up. Another bonus of the location was the proximity to Secret Beach. It was a 15-minute golf cart ride from the resort whereas it is a minimum 30 minute ride from the downtown San Pedro area. The element that I feel separates Aruna from any other resort I have experienced is the staff and the personalized service we received. It was another level. Upon arrival - actually before arrival-the Aruna concierge team, created a Whatsapp group chat. We mostly used it to let them know when were heading back to the dock in San Pedro so they would ensure the captain was aware. However, we did have wicked storm blow in which exposed a slight leak in the bathroom so we let the team know via the app. Lorena was all over it - as she was throughout the stay- and sent someone the next morning. I also used the app to book a fishing guide. Just entered the request along with available days and it was arranged within the day. I cannot do justice to how on-point they were. Side-note: I suspect that this level of personalized service will be more difficult to deliver once the hotel is done with their expansion plans so get there soon. I could be wrong but... The food at Akasha was great. Belize is not exactly a well-kept secret and prices reflect this fact but it is still far less expensive than New York. My favorite meals were breakfast. I went through most of menu over the course of 8 days. Everything I ordered was sublime and super healthy. As I sit looking out the window and watch this blizzard unfold, I think back to 75 degree mornings, the breezy walk along the dock connecting our room to the restaurant, and anticipation of the adventure to come. It was bliss and thank you again to team at Aruna. One more thing. Aruna on NYE was amazing. The Bamboo Chicken Band played on the outdoor landing below the restaurant and the vantage point of Aruna during NYE is unbelievable. We viewed no fewer than 8 different firework displays up and down the coast. What a spectacle and experience."
