First let me say that this trip was primarily for my husband to surf and secondly for us to truly get away. The Punta Conejo provided that. Now for the review. Let me first establish clearly that this is not a resort regardless of what the name says. This is a surf camp. Period. Think glamping- bed, A/C, and the basics. Also, there is nothing there to other than surf. Be prepared to either surf a lot, or bring books and download music. The hype on the website that says fishing, hiking, culture- no, that is not available in between surf sessions. We did ask and were told that we'd need to seek activities in Huatulco on our own. There are a few dogs on the property that are absolute sweethearts, so that was a huge plus. There is wifi sometimes, but it's super patchy and if you stay in the units not connected to the main building you will not have it at all. Do not expect these things and you will have a great time. Set your expectations clear that you will be glamping and surfing and you will be stoked the entire time. The rooms are clean and well taken care of. The beds are quite comfortable. And the A/C is a very welcome relief to the humid head that most aren't going to be used to. The woman who cleaned our room was such a sweetheart and so thorough. Keep in mind that this is rural Mexico- there will be spiders and geckos that make it into your room. The ones we had left us alone and we left them alone. Additionally, do not expect a hot shower. There is no hot water. Not a huge inconvenience since outside is usually scorching, but just a nice to know. Say overnight in Huatulco before and after to get hot showers and then remember you will be glamping. Now to the food. It was fairly good and the ladies in the kitchen worked really hard to make sure everyone was well fed and had their dietary needs taken care of. They honestly worked really hard to be accommodating. I do think that they were serving things that they thought they typical American would like vs. actual food that they would normally cook and eat. It would be better if they stuck to what they know. I will say we did not go hungry. One point of note- there is not a full bar as indicated on the website. There is stuff to make margaritas and some beer. e.g. bring your own wine or other beverages of choice if beer or weak margs aren't your thing. That includes sodas. They didn't have Coca-Colas after our second day there, and there was zero effort to ensure they restocked. If you want something specific- BRING IT YOURSELF. Overall, the ladies on staff were friendly and very helpful both in the kitchen and in making sure our room was clean and comfortable. The guys did what they needed to, but did not go out of their way. That includes the surf guide. He would do the least required to ensure we got to the surf, but was often not really willing to drive to some of the further breaks. He also didn't really try to make sure there were refreshments taken with us, so again- if you want somethi
