Beach Box Perhentian

We had a great stay at Beachbox during our 6 days on the island. The room was clean and well equipped (we had a downstairs room), and worked fine for us as we didn’t spend a lot of time there. During our stay in April it was quite quiet but we could definitely see it picking up towards the end of the month, so I can imagine there is more of an atmosphere in the busier part of the season. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and assisted quickly with any requests (for instance we requested a trip snorkelling which they arranged privately for the next day). The main highlight for me was the food though, we had 3 evening meals there and were blown away each time. From our experience it was the best food we had on either island, and for a (more expensive) but reasonable price for the quality, definitely worth it. During our stay we did 4 dives with Universal Divers (located next door), we hiked across the island, snorkelled and took two water taxis over to the other island, all of which is very easy to do from Beachbox, so the location was good for us. The only negative I have is the bed was not super comfortable and there mechanical noises during the night, so I didn’t sleep amazingly. Saying that my partner had no issues and slept fine! I would highly recommend Beachbox for your stay on the island.

You know a place is great when you feel a little sad to leave! We highly recommend Beach Box for the outstanding customer service and prime waterside location. Manager Karki is a true gem who went above and beyond in taking care of us during our short 4-night stay. He made thoughtful suggestions, helped ensure my special dietary requirements were met with Celiac-friendly Gluten Free meals, negotiated lower rates with boat captains, looked out for our return when we took the kayaks out around sunset, and helped arrange the return of a prescription snorkel mask we accidentally left behind on a tour boat. He genuinely cares for his guests as if they were family. We loved the sea views from our second floor room, and enjoyed beautiful sunsets across the water behind Perhentian Kecil from our private balcony. Helpful housekeeper Omri provided a useful explanation of the various switches when showing us around the room. The room was spotless - surely helped by the no-shoes-upstairs policy and the convenient foot wash by the steps from the beach. We appreciated the hotel's commitment to environmental sustainability as evidenced by reusable metal straws in the welcome drinks, refillable glass water bottles in the room, and that they actually leave (vs replace) towels when left hung up to use again. Other thoughtful touches include small foam bumpers on the bed corners to prevent owies when walked into. The restaurant is perched right over the water, where we spotted a baby shark swimming by at breakfast. While the coastal boardwalk runs through the building (like many others along the beach) between the restaurant and the lounge area in front of the ground floor rooms, the area is nice and quiet... Perfect for relaxing. Beach Box is just steps from the Tuna Bay house reef with good snorkeling during mid- and high-tide. Complimentary kayaks are available to access more snorkeling at Turtle Point, Teluk Keke, and Shark Point (which can also be visited on a short snorkel tour for those who prefer not to paddle). We loved the Rawa Island "long" snorkel tour arranged by Karki, where we swam with a dozen cute baby black-tipped reef sharks! After over over six months of traveling throughout Southeast Asia, this is one of our favourite accommodations, and we hope to return again.

I knew I had made the right decision the moment I stepped in. This family run business is quite a little gem, and Julie and the team were so friendly and attentive, and went out of their way to make me feel welcome. I had a lovely room on the upper floor, overlooking the water, and enjoyed sitting out on the deck, watching the world go by. My room was clean and spacious, with air con and a fan. I had dinner every night on the balcony, overlooking the sea and watching the baby sharks swim back and forth. Every meal was superb and beautifully presented. The location was spot on, with beautiful beaches, and right next to the ferry jetty. It is also right next door to Universal Diver where I completed my Advanced PADI cert. If you are looking for a personalised feel with fab food, service, and location, you can’t go wrong with Beach Box. Terima kasih! 🙏

DO NOT BOOK YOUR BEACH RENTAL WITH BEACH BOX. The pictures don’t show you all the problems with the houses. They will not return phone calls or fix any issues. The address this company uses at 2413 Market St is not their actual place of business. It is empty location. You will not get any kind of refund or solution. It is a scam!!!!!

Spent 4 days at the Beachbox. Wat a perfect location nearby superb snorkeling location (direct from the beach). The coral is in very good condition with lot's of fish. Staff is more then helpful and help you with arranging day trips or just a water taxi. Dinner is a day menu and I can say very, very fresh and tasteful. Rooms are clean, comfortable good ac and beach towels are included. So looking for a good place to stay at perhentian... this is absolute the place.

Beach Box Perhentian is a very special hideaway in Perhentian Besar Island. It stay away from crowed area, located in a nice clean quiet area. Not like the popular Long Beach in Perhentian Kecil, this is a perfect place for me to chill out. When other resort serving full board package with buffet meal, Beach Box is serving each guest an individual meal. The food is delicious and delightful with quite a big portion. The service from Beach Box is on the highest quality. Madam Julie - the sister of the owner is a very kind and friendly person. And very helpful in arranging our boat transfer on the day we return home. We booked Deluxe room which located on the upper floor with a nice sea view from the balcony. The room is clean and most importantly very well maintained. This is one of the few places that I would like to return for a second time.

We wanted a 7 days beautiful holiday and instead it was a dream. Cozy room with breathtaking view and super clean like the whole hotel. Cuisine above all expectations, with attention to ingredients and presentation from breakfast to dinner. The restaurant overlooks the water and it is not uncommon to be surrounded by different types of fish. Julie (owner's sister), was a wonderful host. It was my first time visiting P. Perhentian with a group of 10 friends, and we made the best decision to stay at this quaint 9 bedroom hotel. Though it is not rated as a 5 star hotel in terms of facilities, it made up for it as the one that provided "par excellence" service and warmth (as in a cosy friendly place to chill). The rooms were large, clean and comfortable and the meals prepared in "omakase" style were delicious and sumptuous. It was exciting to guess what our next meal is going to be but each dish did not disappoint including the vegetarian meals prepared for one of us. Kudos and a very big TQ to Niko, Su and the rest of the crew for making our stay a memorable one and many of us in the group will be back again. I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone planning to visit P Perhentian!!!

We recently stayed for close to one week at Beach Box. We were very happy with our stay. -＞ venue and rooms are modern and clean -＞ location wise it's right on the beach -＞ food is great -＞ AC worked perfectly -＞ communication over email before our stay was smooth -＞ there was an issue with a bug in our room, but this was taken care of immediately What stood out the most was the hospitality and how friendly Yuen and Nico are. All stay really went the extra mile to make sure we had a good stay. Always want to share some items that we did not find great. Honestly, with the many upsides a serious challenge. -＞ although the venue is right on the beach, there is no actual beach with sun chairs where you can lay down -＞ the rooms downstairs directly face the common restaurant area, although we did not experience issues regarding noise. -＞ the 50% deposit upon reservation is quite steep, and paying by bank transfer (e.g. instead of Paypal) is quite costly A top tip: -＞ the Tuna Bay restaurant sells international brands of ice cream -＞ you can walk in the direction of Perhentian Island Resort using a trail (e.g. check Maps.me). Trail is a bit steep at places with mosquito's. Do not wear flip flops.
