I first stayed here 12 years ago and the hotel has gone downhill since it changed management. Although my bedroom was very smart with good facilities, the reception staff weren't always helpful and they didn't seem concerned when I had difficulty booking a taxi on my last day as I needed to be at Boston Airport for a specific time as I was flying to Dallas. The reception was run down and although I enjoyed the swimming pool, the pool area was also scruffy along with changing rooms. The restaurant was very good however, with an excellent choice, although some of the restaurant staff could have been more friendly.
We visited Plymouth for a wedding. I booked a room for myself and when I went back later to double check the room types available, it gave me a crazy low rate. I figured I would be a fool not to book it, so I booked another room for my parents. I then received my confirmation email showing the low rate. I figured if we checked in and the hotel wouldn't honor the rate, we could share a room since we both had 2 beds. We received a text to check in the morning of arrival which confirmed our rate of a total of $100 for 2 nights. When we checked in at the hotel, we were given our keys and there was no mention in a change of rate. However, when we checked out, we were emailed a receipt showing $768 and my credit card was charged this rate, a whopping $668 more than agreed upon. I talked to the front desk and was told to contact the front desk manager, who was not there at the time. I have since emailed him several times and left a voicemail, but I have not gotten a response. I think it is wrong not to honor the rate agreed upon and I don't see how you can change the rate at check out. It is one thing to change a rate prior to or at check in so that the guest can decide not to keep the reservation, but not at check out when the guest is left with no options. It isn't my fault that your booking platform made the mistake. The hotel itself was just ok. My room was alright with a nice shower and I didn't have any issues with it. However, several family members had problems with (lack of) cleanliness with their rooms. They found objects in their rooms from previous guests, including dirty socks, a pacifier and someone else's credit card. The pool and splash pad were nice though we were disappointed that the hot tub was out of order. The location is great but if staying in the area again, I will stay somewhere that honors the booked rate.
The management at this hotel is stellar! Our initial room did not meet our needs, and management was very quick to identify the problem & reach out to us to rectify it. We changed rooms & they issued a refund for the first night. Honestly, I don’t know when I’ve seen such responsiveness from hotel management. The new room seems perfect for our needs (we both have allergies). We are loving our visit to Plymouth & were saying yesterday that we would love to come back & bring our daughter’s family / grand daughter; if we do, we will definitely select this hotel for our stay. The location is so close (walkable) to downtown, most historical sights as well as restaurants & shopping. Seeing how responsive hotel management is to their customers & wanting them to have a good experience is PRICELESS!

* Wi-Fi was actually good. * Fridge was broken - it froze everything with no way to turn it down * Office chair was broken - leaned to the side, squeaked horribly, lever didn't stay to stop it from reclining, needed to go in the trash bin * crib was broken - the side would not stay up, ended up having to bring the baby in the bed * We stayed for 5 nights and never once got a change of sheets, even when I specifically requested housekeeping on day 4 * If you don't get to breakfast before 9am (it ends at 10am) there is next to nothing left. The creamer runs out around 8:30 and the lady was not friendly when we asked for more * The HDMI port was physically removed from the TVs. We brought our fire cube and couldn't connect it. The only options they give you are youtube, netflix and like 20 cable channels. Why? * Price is way too high considering the quality and service level received
