Very good, but missing a little bit. The people at the front desk are very nice. The breakfast is slightly better than the 'free breakfast' at the other chain. The parking at the parking garage across the street is convenient. Note that the garage is not secured, but that is typical in cities. The Chrysler Museum is a short walk away. The nightlife / restaurants are a short walk down Granby Street. It is about a 15 minute walk to the harbor. The light rail transportation is nearby. The room was nice. We were upgraded to a two room suite which was great. On areas for improvement: There should be wall hooks for jackets / hats to the right of the door. There is a need for luggage holders. We had to put ours on the kitchen table. One of the two elevators was broken. When trying to check out in the morning, the one elevator was full every time it stopped at the 4th floor. It took a while to get the luggage cart into a car. The light rail was LOUD in our room until late at night. We faced W. York Street, which should have been quieter than Brambleton.
Jermaine was awesome! He went above and beyond to help tell us about the area and gave us great recommendations for food. He has a genuine passion for life and helping his guests. If you stay at the hotel ask for him to help you. His coworkers were very friendly too! Thanks again for your hospitality. The DeLucia family.
I travel often for work and pleasure, usually upwards of 100 days a year. I have been a member of Hilton Honors for over 15 years and I have never left a hotel review before. Monique has made my stay! Her customer service is excellent, she is always in a good mood, and she made me feel as if I was the most important guest here. I am happy to write this review and recognize her for her exceptional customer service. I have stayed at 5-star hotels who didn't come close to the level of care, professionalism, and service that Monique has provided. I haven't interacted with any other staff yet, but if they are of her caliber, then I look forward to it.
The guy at the front desk was fantastic! He was helpful, friendly and had the best attitude of anyone I’ve dealt with at a hotel desk. We only stayed there overnight before catching a flight but our experience at this hotel was actually better than our destination hotel that cost 4 times as much! And here, we got a free hot cookie and coffee, as opposed to our destination hotel where they wanted $6 for a cookie.
We waited for over an hour to get checked in( I prepaid thru Priceline). When I mentioned it to a staff Member They said ”well just because check in says 4 pm does not mean u will check in at 4 pm. The hall smelled like beer. We stayed there 3 days and our sheets were never changed. I asked for more towels because the roll in shower was not draining. My son who came to pick us up for dinner was able to get us towels. I had called down to the desk after the 10th ring they picked up they put me off. Breakfast was cold. There was not a trash can in the room and the room has flies, Also, the toilet paper holder was broke. I spoke to a guest at breakfast and she had a similar experience. The room was not inexpensive. A motel 6 or Red Roof would have been better. I wish I had my money back. I hope Priceline sees this as well.
The room was nice, Maria kept the room very clean. Renee at the bar/restaurant was very friendly helpful and welcoming. The food was cooked well and was good esp. The pickle chips with that sauce! The room had a great view of Norfolk. Would definitely stay here again.
My family and I needed a short stay in Norfolk and I found this place. When we arrived, we were greeted nicely. I needed adjoining rooms, but the hotel was booked. The lady at the front desk accommodated me very nicely and I was happy. The breakfast was good and plentiful. There was access to water, tea and coffee at all times. And we were very close to the outlets. I recommend this place.
I wasn't allowed to change my reservation from 2 nights to 1 night after finding out our match schedule. We drove in early Friday morning with the intent of checking in then bc we had a room for Thursday and Friday night only to be told the room was released as a no-show (which I had sent a message through the Hilton App that we would be checking in early Friday am). So, then I had to wait to check in on Friday for Friday night until after 1:00 pm BUT I was still charged for the Thursday night room which - I was fine with bc we wanted to check in early - but that didn't happen. The hotel was not helpful at all with the situation and kind of played dumb with the whole process. I will not be keeping my Hampton Rewards for future stays. For a preferred customer rewards program - not happy with the outcome.
Water in bathroom - woke up at 3am to find water leaking from ceiling and wall. Let front desk know at 6 AM (for softball tournament) and asked if we could move to our belongs to a new room or keep them there while they checked out the problem -they did not have anything available and I would not be able to have another room until after three . also we’re not permitted to keep our belongings in the room. So we had to quickly pack up. After a lot of back-and-forth with the gentleman at the front desk he said the might have something come available earlier. No compensation offered. The water had been leaking for sometime as the paint was bubbled all down the wall. Rooms were clean but dated. A bit of an inconvenience as you have to go pick up linens for the pull out and toaster/appliances.
