The beautiful valley of Paro is home to the National Museum, the one and only International airport and many of Bhutan’s old monasteries including the iconic Taktsang Lhakhang.
Located in Tshendona, The Village Lodge Paro is our Flagship establishment. Inspired by the rich culture of Bhutanese people, The Village Lodge was built to capture the unique Bhutanese architecture in the Valley and blend with its neighboring farm houses. Nestled in the middle of fertile paddy fields, the lodge offers 13 mini suites with a feel of rural Bhutanese life and the luxury of upscale hotels.
Paro Hospital is 6kms from the hotel.

The location and the look of the property was very quaint. We went in the winter so the paddy fields all around were barren, as the harvest season was over … but we could imagine how beautiful it would have looked when the fields were lush green! The decor of the space emulates a traditional village house. The old block and the new block upper floor rooms look more authentic than the ground floor rooms! However, the upper floor rooms are more colder and are not the best for the winter months! The room furniture and decor was a bit basic and could have been better curated. The rooms in the new blocks in the ground floor could have been a bit better for the price! We felt a little restricted with the breakfast menu. As a person with diabetise, I did not find much food options. The menu offered was too narrow and restrictive. Only watermelon, eggs, bread n butter, and a choice of Aloo puri or Aloo paratha and tea or coffee. For the price this was too basic a choice. Also, the last time to serve breakfast was 9am, which can be a problem if you are not an early riser! It should be atleast extended to 10am, if not 10:30am! One major problem was a lack of running hot water. It took almost 3min for the heater to warm up even after turning it on for a long time! One had to keep the tap open for a while before hot water started flowing. It’s a huge waste of water. Also, the supply was patch and the water will turn cold every once in a while. It a winter country, inconsistent hot water supply can be a big problem. The staff were compliant but not very engaging! Overall an average experience!!
ผผู้เข้าพักLocation - excellent food - average. The food needs variety and taste. Service- varies. Poor- any minor change from the menu served, they levy extra charge. Good- room service is prompt. Hygiene - the towels are not very fresh and bathroom does not smell very fresh, maybe due to poor ventilation in the bathroom. Amenities: the resort needs to keep a luggage weighing scale for international travellers. The property has been an orchard and farm house. Morning walks are good within the resort.
ผผู้เข้าพักWe, a family of 6, 2 senior citizens, 2 adults, 1 9 yr kid and 1 infant stayed in khamsum thimpu and khamsum paro in april 2024 end. Their manager mrs. Usmita was very cordial during our stay. The rooms given to us were fantastic. Being a veg hotel, amazing jain food was easily available at their restaurant. For a few local dishes, mars usmita actually went out of the menu and made us enjoy the delicacies. (for jains like me, there is a veg cafe named mountain cafe, very close by at both places which even has a jain / vegan menu) mrs usmita helped arrange for one of the best hot stone baths in paro for all of us. My 9 year kid too enjoyed it a lot. Absolute value for money hotel. A must book place for jain, vegan and vegetarian travellers.
ผผู้เข้าพักEverything was amazing right from the word go. The hospitality and cuisine were top drawer stuff. The host took time to drop and pick me up at the inaugural ceremony of the first royal bhutan festival amid-st heavy rains. Looking forward to visit again. Recommend strongly for any first time visitors and i am sure who will automatically make this venue a permanent one.
