I have just completed my fifth week-long stay at Marriott's Legends Edge at Bay Point and cannot wait to go back. I do timeshare exchanges through Interval International. This resort has everything. The accommodations are excellent. While it isn't beachfront, there are water views because the Grand Lagoon is right there. I enjoyed incredible views, watching various watercraft come and go, and especially the sunsets each night.
Fantastic hotel and service! This hotel is located on the water near a marina and it is a beautiful location. The service was fantastic. The front desk staff person (I wish I had gotten his name) referred us to excellent restaurants for dinner and breakfast and I rated them both 5 stars! I would definitely stay here again if I’m ever in Panama City Beach!
We booked this hotel from Monday to Saturday to escape Hurricane Milton when it hit Tampa. From the minute we checked in, which was early, since we stayed up the block the first night, we were there early because of the last minute plans. I explained our situation to Shrenica at the front desk and she she said we would have to pay the $50 early check in fee regardless. No compassion whatsoever for the fact that we had to leave our home for fear of a hurricane. Now on to the hotel amenities and cleanliness: 1) As other guests have mentioned there was a total lack of paper goods (plates, cups, napkins) available in the room and in the hotel. 2) The floors in our room were filthy and I actually had an allergy attack from all the dust. 3) The lobby and breakfast were the worst we've ever experienced in any hotel we've stayed in. The lobby floors were always sticky (probably from all the kids running around with juice and spilling it). The music for breakfast was incredibly loud and between that, and all the kids, it was not a relaxing atmosphere at all. Now the pool area - there is a lazy river in the pool which is beautiful, but it is overrun by children and not a relaxing atmosphere at all. We expect to be able to relax at the pool area when I'm paying to stay at a hotel. There was no ”adult pool” without screaming and yelling children all day long in the pool along with the incredibly loud music that was played all day as well. If you're looking for a relaxing vacation at the beach, this is NOT the place!!!
ผผู้เข้าพักWonderful stay — depending on what the guest is looking for. To start, this motel is a step back in time. Late 1950s, early 1960s vibe. This would be OG Panama City Beach, folks. From the parking lot, this is straight out of a movie set from mid century America. The “front desk” is in a round building separate from the motel — the way they used to be when folks hit the road for long vacations and drove up to their room area. Free coffee in the check in area and the absolutely nicest front desk staff you will ever meet. Friendly, attentive staff is a hallmark of this place. Lots of staff on hand to help out. I have stayed in $500/night hotels on NYC’s prime areas and not had staff this attentive and friendly. The room was large (especially by modern standards), bed comfy and balcony overlooked pool and the Gulf. Refrigerator was larger than the standard hotel mini-fridge and can hold quite a bit of food. Microwave is standard hotel size. The pool was hopping. Lots of families, retirees and young adults. Teenagers took over at night and had a great time. A huge checkers and chess board was fun for the kids to clown around with. There are steps to the beach, and you can get umbrella and chairs set up down there. Lots of people just seemed to picnic by the pool or sun deck, and had drinks at pool bar. Plenty of towels available for the pool chairs. Again, staff is amazing. They are even patient when a dozen children (age 10 or so and under) from lots of different families pile into the bar chairs and ask for glasses of water that are served with a smile and as if those soaking wet kids are the most important guests they have. Now, for why this place isn’t for everybody: building design is vintage, no-nonsense concrete and brick. It is not a modern high-rise. There is no elevator. If you need help, tell staff in advance, and they will put you on the parking lot level so you can drive to your door. There are ice machines on the east side of each level. It is not fancy, and if you want modern, this is not it. Remember, one person’s “dated” is another person’s time-travel fun. This is a step back to mid century US vacation heyday. The biggest difference from that era: The mix of guests is delightfully diverse. In short: I found it to be a fun place, clean, comfortable, had all the amenities we needed and was a good value. Would not hesitate to stay here again and would recommend to folks who would appreciate the vibe. I hope someone doesn’t come in and “update it” beyond its historic roots.
CcameronblakecarterTerrible experience! Upon arrival on 09/03/2023, I checked in my reservation and was placed in rm 106. Immediately I noticed the AC wasn’t working, I notified staff and they pressed a few buttons and said it’s working now. My family and I then headed to the beach where we stayed for the next several hours until past nightfall. After returning to the hotel, our room was ridiculously hot. I notified staff again and this is where the horrible encounter occurred. The lady working the front desk told me to “suck it up”, she also said “its not my problem and there’s nothing I can do for you” I was appalled by such rudeness. I called the number off the Wyndham main website and spoke with someone who then called the front desk and didn’t get ab answer. I called the number again and another person finally reached the front desk, the lady came in the room, stayed for a few minutes to verify the AC wasn’t working properly and it wasn’t until then that my family were accommodated to a different room. Unfortunately, that AC wasn’t working properly either, but after the difficulties I just encountered, I opted to not even bother complaining to the front desk. I rate this establishment 0/5.
