Rating 4.5 out of 5 Our 4 nights stay with Reverie Siam started with a little hitch at Chiang Mai International Airport. We were sent a photo of the waiting area in advance by the resort but didn't know it was at the domestic arrival area. We asked and walked around the airport and finally found our driver after 10 minutes late. It is indeed strange that the hotel asked the driver to wait at the domestic arrival instead of the international arrival area. Transfer to Pai - rating 5 out of 5. Our driver was an awesome guy. Knowing that the 3 hours drive to hotel would be tiring, he dropped us after 1.5 hours drive at 32 Coffee Hill for a pit stop. The latte (B65) was excellent and gave us a great perk. We also took a light lunch before our 2nd leg of another 1.5 hours. Special mention to the toilets here - the cleanest and nicest in Pai! As there are many switchbacks during the rest of the drive to the hotel, the driver drove very slowly to ensure that we would not be car sick. In addition, he also told us to watch out for the lantern celebration that very day as well as the Wed market that would be interesting to visit the next day. We were delighted that this same driver drove us back to Chiang Mai Airport during our return trip. Hospitality & Service - rating 5 out of 5. All the staff, be it front desk, security guards, housekeeping, waitresses, cleaners were friendly and helpful. We appreciate their kind gesture of a little gift for our wedding anniversary. Room - rating 4.5 out of 5. We stayed in the Deluxe Balcony Room. The room has a good layout with a verandah facing the stone pool and a bit of the mountain view. We liked the roomy vintage designed shower area with a big tub. What we didn't like was the lack of space on the writing desk for our own usage as it was filled with the hotel's stuff. Nice that the hotel still sticks to daily housekeeping when hotels in Europe and North America have removed this services. Activities - rating 5 out of 5. We booked all our activities with the hotel for convenience and security. The private drivers provided good services although communication might be an issue but all well and good. The hotel did provide good advice to us to move one of our departure time earlier, so that we would be in time to see the stunning sunset at Pai Canyon. We spent our times leisurely at all the attractions and we were never time pressured. Conclusion - Would recommend this hotel to all. The hotel provides free shuttle on demand to Pai town. We did try walking to town during daylight in 20 minutes. Not recommended to walk back at night as there are no street lightings. The hotel surrounding is tranquil and at the back of the hotel is the Pai River where the guests could relax. There is a good spa Sapaiya nearby (about 8 minutes walk from hotel). On every Wednesday, there is local market set up just outside the hotel.
ผผู้เข้าพักIf you're looking for a truly immersive cultural experience, this is the place for you. It wasn't quite what I expected, but in a unique and memorable way. The ”cottage room” was charming but different from what I anticipated. It had no windows, except for the door, and the walls were constructed with bamboo, and for the windows there were branches that created gaps instead of traditional glass windows. As a result, I could hear the loud music from neighboring guests and the constant hum of traffic from the nearby road. Thankfully, earplugs were provided to help dull the noise.
I stayed in early November, when the weather was cool and rainy, so it wasn’t uncomfortable, but I imagine it could be much less pleasant during the summer months, despite the fan provided in the room. The communal bathroom is separate from the cottages but has a cozy, quaint feel.
The hostess was an absolute delight—welcoming, warm, and kind-hearted. Her generosity made the stay even more special. Overall, it was a one-of-a-kind experience that I won't soon forget.
