I have rarely stayed in such a large room with such unsatisfactory design and contents. Even a basic budget hotel always has a place to stand a suitcase effectively. If a safe is provided,it will always be large enough to hold a camera.Window cills do not have over a one inch gap from the wall ,so admitting unwanted light. Apart from the total omissions, there were a couple of really slovenly management failings. The builders’ red plastic packing wedges between floor and wall fittings were still in place. The bidet was emitting a strong drain smell, as the trap seemed to have dried out through disuse by the occupants , and the housekeeper had failed to run any water through. The things I merely thought very poor for a four star hotel were numerous-the inappropriateness for a hot climate of the giant duvets and clinging soft topped mattresses, the lack of any work space( only “ desk” was occupied by ridiculous flashy kettle),poor bedside tables, and the bathroom - huge, but no bath. The reception staff were not very bright, and gave me a “map” with an incorrect street name at the hotel location! The breakfast had nothing in common with the attributes of the room- just a standard “ International” type with no failures. I am at present in an “Ibis” hotel somewhere even hotter than Padova. It is superior in every way ,except that it fails to look flashy. They even have a map.
We chose this hotel due its very close proximity to the main train station. The hotel looks like a new build inside an old building. Our room was fairly large with a good sized modern bathroom. The shower stall though was small. The bathroom had a full complement of amenities such as soap bars and shampoo. Breakfast was very good with much choice. The reception staff was friendly and helpful. This hotel is located, as was mentioned earlier, minutes from the main train station. It took us about 20 to 25 minutes walking to the old city, 1 hour to the main park and Saint Anthony’s. The tram runs right up in front of the hotel. It is near many restaurants and coffee shops. We highly recommend this hotel.
The NH Padova hotel, formerly known as NH Mantegna, is in the perfect location for exploring the city. The historic center of Padua, with its cafes, restaurants, and tourist sites, is only 15 minutes away on foot. The main train station is 900m from the hotel and gives guests easy access to the surrounding areas. The university and business districts are also within easy reach. The NH Padova features stylish and modern design complete with Andrea Mantegna reproductions throughout. There are 190 contemporary rooms with chic leather armchairs and designer fixtures in the bathrooms. These large and elegant spaces feature modern comforts such as workstations, free Wi-Fi, LCD TVs, and minibars. Every morning we serve a delicious fresh breakfast buffet where you can order eggs any style and enjoy a variety of sweet and savory options. The Parnaso restaurant is on the 12th floor and offers beautiful views of Padua from the outdoor terrace. Enjoy one of the local or international dishes al fresco or in the sleek minimalist atmosphere of the restaurant. Our bar is a casual space where guests can enjoy a snack with their favorite cocktail or a try a traditional Italian wine. The hotel also has 8 meeting rooms for up to 160 people. Before our trip I read a lot of comments that hotel is pretty old and tired. But when we arrived we realized that hotel has been renovated. All the rooms are modern, fresh and cozy. Hotel has good parking, tasty breakfast on the last floor with the nice view. Rooms have comfy beds and balkonies with the good view. Location is not far from the city center and train station. From the last one you can easily reach to Venice. Staff was very helpful and friendly. I can defintelly recomend this hotel for couples and families with kids and grand parents.
Air Conditioning blows warm. Not cold not cool, warm. Front desk informs you to play with the thermostat. Yep… still not working. Switched rooms to AC that was “working”. Same situation and later found many reviews stating the same. Obviously hotel looking to save $$ on thermostat settings. Additionally as American not one channel in English nor the ability to switch languages on the remote. Hotel fine for locals who are not needing Air Conditioner nor English speaking channels. Pass.
The Best Western Plus location was very close to all of the activities we had planned for our quick visit to Padova. The hotel is clean, modern, updated, with the convenience of breakfast served daily. Staff are extremely helpful. Would highly recommend this hotel.
Our room looked onto the Basilica of San Antonio and it’s giant Christmas tree with beautiful sparkling lights, and church bells, made this hotel very special. We checked in online and never saw a receptionist ever. Every street door, room door and bistro door opens with your phone. Beds are comfortable, room has everything we needed, reasonable pillows. Decent sized and clean ,modern bathrooms. Breakfast downstairs is part of the bistro. Nice menu with a variety of dishes and good service. The cafe staff booked our taxi on the first day before we learned about the IT Taxi App. The owner also booked us our early morning taxi. The hotel is near to all the sights of Padua. If i were to nitpick i would love coffee served in the rooms (there is a kettle with tea only). I missed my coffee. Lovely hotel and would recommend it. Get a room with a view
Conveniently located in the pedestrian zone of Padua, about 15 minute walk from the train station and the bus station, close to restaurants and other ammenities. Very clean, very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast with several options (fresh fruit, youghurt, croissants, fresh bread). We had a fantastic stay and absolutely recommend it. I love how the rooms are a mixture of old and modern, with high ceilings and modern bathroom.
Hotel moderno che merita ampiamente tutte le stelle. situato Situato in un zona decentrata e tranquilla della città, lontano dal caos urbano. Camere spaziose, luminose pulite e funzionali. Colazione ottima, varia ed abbondante. Personale disponibilissimo e cordiale. Assolutamente da consigliare.
DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL, specially if you are a solo traveler. I made a 2-night reservation for work purposes. The convenient location and the good rating made me decide for this hotel, even if it was more expensive than similar alternatives (110€/night during the week for a 2*). When I arrived, I regreted my choice as soon as I walked in. The pictures online are much more flattering than reality. The hotel is completely dated, is too warm and smells funny everywhere, from the reception to the rooms. The staff is not helpful. The room....much smaller than advertised, tiny tiny, dated, with a strange smell. Cleanliness, despite not being terrible, is far from irreprehensible, specially in the ancient bed quilts that must be used for several guests in a row. The bathroom is also small, with a tiniest shower (that I didnt event want to get in). From the vents in the bathroom you hear ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING from the nearby rooms. Also in the room itself, walls are paper thin and you hear everything from the other rooms..you don't feel calm and relaxed at all. To top it up, I don't know quite how to put it into words, but the environment is very strange. I didn't feel safe at all. I could barely sleep with this feeling of insecurity, specially after having read comments on TripAdvisor about strangers being able to open the doors. I left after 1 night in the early morning, despite having paid for 2 nights. There was 0 availability from the staff to discuss the negative points or cancellation policy for the 2nd night, even though you pay WAY TOO MUCH for what is advertised and then ends up being a complete disappointment. WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE EVER even though I only wanted some place to sleep for work purposes. This felt like on the movies, that terrible strange place where people go to sleep after somenone kicks them out off the house.
Great place for the money. Loved the restaurant at Giorgio, they make exceptional pizza. We spent all the time in the gym and later in the pool, where we met two great tip-tap-toe dancers from Frosinone. The only problem was that the neighbouring room complained for the banging at 3 am. But that was our fault, we admit, and we’re deeply sorry. Padova (Padua) is an amazing city, full of things, but a bit over the place. The main sight we suggest is the “Ponte de quatro martiri” where you can enjoy the sunset and the spiders hanging around. Also we suggest a day to Legnaro, the only thing is to beware incoming thunderstorms. The best thing about Padua though is the bus system, which is free and always on time. I’ve forgot to mention the beautiful Capela di Scovregni, where you can admire the masterpieces by Lionardo and Rafaello. We would also like to thank the staff for their exceptional service, summed by the motto: “NO”, which they told meant “of course”. The only complaint was when we asked for the access to the meeting room, to which they replied: “…cuesti a un cost”, which made us realise how tough life is for everyone
ผผู้เข้าพักThe Hotel Europa is only a ten or twelve minute walk from the Padova railway station and is easy to find. The hotel is also only about a ten minute walk to the centre of the old town, with historical sites and shopping, restaurants and bars all being fairly close. Check-in was easy and despite being early by about twenty minutes, the receptionist gave me a room. A double room, it had an independent air-conditioning unit, a safe (which was unfortunately locked when I arrived), plenty plug points, a fridge with two bottles of water and a bathroom with very basic toiletries. The internet wifi worked alright. Rather strangely for a 4 star hotel however, there was no coffee machine/kettle in the room with instant coffee/tea etc. The room was clean and although not luxurious was comfortable enough. Breakfast was of the usual continental style but with the addition of bacon and scrambled or boiled eggs. A few rolls, breads, croissants, pastries, tarts as well as cold meat, cheese, yoghurt, choice of cereals, fruit juice and some fresh fruit. Sounds like a lot, but compared with other hotel breakfast buffets, it was actually quite meagre. No self-service coffee machine (probably a good thing!) but you could ask the staff for a cappucini or whatever. They didn’t actively ask if you wanted a coffee; you had to approach and ask them. Likewise when first entering the restaurant there was no ‘buongiorno” or “good morning”, just a rather sour faced woman asking for your room number. I did ask the receptionist if the safe in my room could be opened so as I could use it and was promised that somebody would come later to fix it but they never did. However having lost my phone charger, I also asked if I could borrow one and the receptionist went into a drawer and gave me one to use. Check-out was quick with another cheery guy at reception. Overall, a bit of a hit or a miss type of place. The receptionists were fine (other than not following up on my request regarding the room safe) but the attitude of the breakfast staff leaves a lot to be desired and I can’t understand a 4 star hotel not having a kettle in the room. At best an average hotel which seemed to me to be more of a 3 than a 4 star. I’ve actually stayed in several better 3 star hotels in Italy than this place. Significantly better!
We were only there for a night. We have a quadruple room which is separated through a sliding door. At check in time the room were ready, it was clean and okay. The kettle was there with instant coffee, tea, sugar and 2 paper cups. More you could ask at the reception. At night the room with the twin bed were suddenly smell like cigarette. As a non smoking family, with a child which has asthma, not a good sign. The smell was so intensive, that it was impossible to sleep. I would say the window has bad isolation. They were fully booked, but at least after begging hard i could get an extra room for my asthmatic child at midnight. Try to get the room with odd number, they are definitely quieter.
