Everything was perfect. The only issue I encountered were thr mosquito. A lot in the lobby and in my room. My room was comfortable and there was also a coffee machine with capsules. I had lunch and dinner at the restaurant of the hotel and both time I was very satisfied. To catch the ferry is just a 10 minutes walking.

Despite being very expensive, there were no staff working when I arrived. The room had many mosquitoes and was not stocked with shampoo etc.  The owner argued with me over breakfast order even though my booking clearly stated I had paid for two breakfasts.  Lack of competition seems to have led to a complacent attitude to service, but if you stay on the island you will probably end up here.

This place is perfect for a dive vacation or relaxing with a mate! Ocean front property. Pool. Restaurants and bars are all walking distance. The people are friendly and welcoming. Best of all the coolest dive shop is next door. I would recommend a night or two. I stayed a week.

We loved our room. Felt like we were living in history. Everyone was so helpful. We will definitely go back.

I stayed at the Old Gin House for a week in March 2026. What's great: - The location, especially if you are diving with Scubaqua (which is right across the street) - The staff are super friendly. There *was* fairly frequent confusion with orders, I couldn't tell if that was a wait staff or kitchen issue, but they fixed any issue without hassle and were so friendly and nice that I just didn't really care about the issues in the end! - The lounge seating area right on the ocean - The pina coladas, absolutely top notch - The grounds are lovely - I liked the pool area in the back, but note that it isn't a particularly good pool for kids (it's deep). What's good: - The food was mostly pretty good. Not outstanding (head over to the Barrel House for that!) but consistent, a decent range of options (especially for breakfast) and somewhat better than average for Caribbean hotels (in my experience). What's fine:- - The rooms are basic but fine. Bathrooms recently modeled and a bit nicer. Beds are nothing to write home about but comfortable enough. I mostly was only in my room to sleep and it suited that purpose just fine! It seems like it has been renovated since many of these reviews and photos.

There is no shuttle. Someone at the airport got us a taxi. The hotel did not help in any way in us getting to the hotel. Important to know.....you are on your own to and from the hotel. Heads up ********* would not let me post this

My room has a great view of the ocean and quite comfortable. The room comes with a small refrigerator and a coffee machine. A/C is sound is soft. There is not much of a beach since this is a volcanic island. Location is excellent. Scubaqua is 2 doors down, Barrel House restaurant is next door and Nats Boardwalk is a minute or two walk towards the dock. Old Gin House also has its own restaurant. The path up hill to town is next to the Old Gin House.

Very nice suite with large sitting room containing two sofas and a separate bedroom with king size sleigh bed. Although there had obviously been some money spent on this hotel, it was probably 20 years back and is now looking a bit tired. The staff were great and the restaurant was excellent, but it is essential to book a table when you first check in. If your taste is for Marriott style hotels, this may not be for you, but if you enjoy quirky originality and local flavour, you will be pleased.
