"I stayed here for an extended work trip and the frustrating thing is that the hotel itself is actually perfectly decent. It is some of the basics around it that badly let it down. The room was absolutely fine. It was clean when I arrived, a good size, the bathroom was clean, the shower had good pressure, there were extra pillows available and the air conditioning worked really well. The room itself gave me very little to complain about. The location is also decent. The train station is close by if you want to get into Newquay, there is a Spar across the road which is handy if you forget anything, and the car park is a good size. The staff themselves were excellent. Everyone I dealt with was very friendly, pleasant and helpful, and whenever I needed anything they did their best to sort it. I could not fault their attitude at all. They were welcoming throughout the stay and came across as genuinely wanting to help. Unfortunately, some of the wider issues still badly let the hotel down. The connectivity here is awful. There was virtually no usable EE signal, which obviously also affects networks using EE, and Vodafone was just as bad. In an area where mobile signal is clearly poor, you would expect the hotel WiFi to make up for it. It does not. The free WiFi is so poor that at one point I could barely download a GIF from a WhatsApp group. That is not an exaggeration. For a hotel in 2026, calling that a usable internet service is being generous. You can pay extra for the premium WiFi, but it is around £6 a night. On a longer work stay, that becomes ridiculous very quickly. My employer had already paid well over £1,000 for the room during my stay, yet apparently basic, usable internet is still treated as an optional extra. That feels very outdated and, frankly, poor value. The restaurant service on my first night was also atrocious. The food itself was fine, so this is not a criticism of the kitchen in terms of quality. The problem was that it took just under an hour for my food to arrive despite there being hardly anybody in the restaurant. Tables were sitting uncleared and the whole service felt disorganised. Again, I do not put that down to the attitude of the staff because everyone I spoke to was very pleasant and helpful. It felt much more like they had not been given enough training, support or clear direction. If a quiet service feels that disorganised, that points more towards a management or staffing issue than the people actually trying to do the job. That first experience was poor enough that it immediately put me off eating there again. So overall, the hotel has clean and comfortable rooms, good parking, a useful location and genuinely excellent staff. Unfortunately, the dreadful free WiFi, almost nonexistent mobile signal and badly organised restaurant service seriously drag it down. For a short overnight stay, you might not care. "Booked a sea view room, highly recommend! The restaurant also has sea views, and the breakfast offers a great variety and is delicious. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel, and they were both really good. The hotel is a five-minute walk to the beach, and you can even hike to Bedruthan Steps, which is very convenient. However, the towel rail in the bathroom wouldn't turn off, making it quite stuffy, so we had to keep the window open during the day."

"Have just had the most amazing spa day at The Nici Newquay. Amazing staff! Thalia gave us a courtesy call the day before explaining everything that we would need to bring and what was provided. Charlotte who was on the desk when we arrived was so welcoming and showed us around the spa. We were given a ginger shot and warm aromatic flannel in the relaxation room. The facilities are beautiful, spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. We then had a sixty minute signature massage. The best massage we’ve ever had by far. Danni was amazing and 60 minutes passed so quickly. Thalia then asked us how our experience was and showed us the products that had been used for the treatments. We were encouraged to try whichever ones we wanted out. We then had a two course lunch in Amalfi Restaurant. The food was incredible and service was wonderful from all restaurant and bar staff. An amazing day. Can’t wait for the next one. Thank you!"
