To begin with, the person at the reception was a RUDE, aggressive woman. Her attitude was that she was doing us a favour by letting us stay in the hotel. She mans the breakfast counter too..Be prepared to encounter her BAD attitude there too. Breakfast is just some breads, cereals and beverages. No fruit or eggs or cold cuts. Linen is reasonably clean and towels are changed everyday. It could be a good hotel if the management was positive and welcoming of tourists. Would not recommend at all.

My wife and I decided to stay at the The Five Rooms for three reasons. First, we wanted to be at a place that was local rather than one that was part of a larger hotel chain. Second, it was located next to Garibaldi Station, which is where we easily could get a train to Pompeii or the subway. Finally, it got excellent reviews on TripAdvisor. Unfortunately, our stay was not as enjoyable as it was for others. Let me start with finding the place, which was a challenge for us as it was for others who have reviewed this place. I had mapped out directions to the hotel, and Alfredo - one of the hosts - sent me a map as well. If you are heading from Garibaldi station, go past (or through) the Piazza Garibaldi; you will see, just past the end of the Piazza, a building with two large gray doors. On the side of those doors, you will see a sign for The Five Rooms. On the right side will be an electric numerical panel. I believe the number one presses for The Five Rooms is 10. Press those numbers, and you will be let in. Next, there is the elevator. Be aware that it is tiny. My wife and I, as well as our two suitcases, barely fit into it. I read that you will need 10 cents (Euros) to use the elevator. That is true if the time is between (I believe) 8 am and 7 pm. After 7 pm, it is free. Take the elevator to the fourth floor, and that is where you will find the hotel. Alfredo helped my wife and me get to the hotel via WhatsApp and met us upon our arrival. The room itself was nice, with a king-sized bed and a huge bathroom, including a very large shower. As I read in other reviews, the breakfast is nice, but not substantial. There are fruits, breads, yogurts, cereals, and juices. If you want milk, you will need to ask for it. You can also ask for coffee, cappuccino, or tea. As others have written, the area where the hotel is located is sketchy. From what I read, Naples has received an unfair reputation for being unsafe. I can't say if that reputation is true or not, but as my wife and I headed through the square next to the hotel to one of the nearby restaurants, we were extra vigilant. My biggest complaint has to do with the service. I agree with those who commented that oftentimes - especially after the morning - no one is at the front desk. But my complaints go beyond that. Upon our arrival, Alfredo showed us the room, and my wife immediately noticed one of the lights in the bathroom was flickering. She brought it to his attention, and he said he would have it fixed within a day or two. (It was not fixed.) More disconcerting, however, was what happened after our first night. My wife wanted to have an extra blanket for the room, as she had been cold (despite me changing the temperature in the room). I looked in the closet, and all that was there was a mattress cover. When we arrived, Alfredo said that if my wife and I needed anything, feel free to contact him. So after spending the day in Naples, I sent Alfredo a WhatsApp message at 6:30 pm askin

Couples visit to Naples. Location - Good location just by the main train station (you can get Alibis straight from airport) with excellent transport links into main area of Naples via the Metro and beyond to Pompeii / Sorento etc. The immediate vicinity is a little rough but you can access the Hotel straight through the station so you don’t need to walk the local streets if you don’t want to. Head to baggage drop area in the station and continue on and take a right and it is signposted. Service - Good. Quick and straightforward. Checking in was literally 5 minutes if that and check out was 2 minutes. Staff friendly and polite. Hotel reception - clean tidy and modern. Hotel room - Superior double with a balcony. The room was clean and tidy and modern. Small TV, small mini fridge. Kettle with Tea included (no coffee tho) bathroom was clean and tidy. Bed a little hard and air-con stopped working during stay on the last night. Food - didn’t have the breakfast as couldn’t be bothered but had the breakfast room on the Sunday and it was good enough for a small bite. Would we visit the hotel again or recommend - it’s good value for money and once you know how to use Metro etc it’s a decent base for a really good price. Expect 3 star standard and you will be happy.

RRip RipWe booked feeling a little nervous as we read the various reviews but also hesitated with little experience of a B&B Guest house.
There seemed very few choices in Naples ( Chiaia district) a prime , safer area ; to have a suite with some kitchenette and a very reasonable price.
We were warmly welcomed to our studio suite, spacious , well organised with a lot of thought in the location of design of fixtures and furniture; seating to take breakfast, working desk and or relax on the sofa.
Brightly lit room with big “can open” sound proof windows or option to use the air conditioning system . Views of the nearby residential apar**ents actually helped us feel at home ( even though we were not able to enjoy the Naples sea view)
Bed, mattress , linen and pillows were fine ( for those who require more specific finer finishes should not go to a Guest house)
Bathroom was practical and had all that one needed, with hand held shower and rain shower installed.
Kitchenette had electric stove , coffee maker, kettle , Fridge and utensils. Again sufficient for a 4 night stay.
Any longer an oven or toaster would have been nice to heat up bread.
The highlight worth mentioning, as most reviews have , is Massimo who helped us with recommendations, guided us with a local map, booked day tour to Pompeii, our taxi and so much more..
Honestly, for those of us who have been lucky to stay in 5 star hotels will know that you don’t always get this type of discreet professional reliable hospitality that Massimo has shown us.
If you don’t mind staying at a guest house which may sound daunting , or that the entrance of the building may be slightly off the side street but having read this review will reassure you that the 24 hours security guards and the gated premises made it feel like a home away from home.
Thank you Massimo
and team for keeping our room super clean , daily when we really didn’t expect the service. Likewise appreciated the small touches of receiving disposable raincoats in case of heavy rain on our tour.
ผผู้เข้าพักThe bar to have drinks in the evening is filthy, dirty table linens that are not linens, had marks that has been used and spilt drinks or food. The chairs and table feels and looks dirty, we took our drinks in our room instead. The breakfast has no cooked food just hard boiled eggs, bread are hard, people have to queue to wait to be served by 1 waiter, you cannot take from the table, waiter has to serve even coffee. It’s scary around the hotel, police are always there, dodgy shops around. Stay nearby or at hotels around Ovo Castle. It’s too dirty aroung Gibraldi station where this hotel is located.
ผผู้เข้าพัก3rd hotel we’ve stayed in on Piazza Garibaldi. The location might be a problem for some as there are a lot of people hanging around in the square and side streets but it felt safe to me. In fact I enjoyed sitting on our first floor balcony 12 feet above the pavement where a lot of locals were hanging out; it added to the charm of the place. It has a tiny ground floor footprint and is accessed via a door in the side street. Pretty unremarkable on arrival. But when you get onto the first floor the corridors and bedrooms are white marble throughout - floor and walls. It does look good but means the corridors are echoey. Room itself is good quality but I have concerns about the bathrooms and particularly the shower. Any interior designer surely knows that wet feet on untreated marble are a nasty accident waiting to happen: the 2 just don’t mix. The marble floor of the shower is downright dangerous; once you’ve rinsed off the shower gel, etc being in the shower is like driving with bald tyres on black ice. There’s nothing to hold onto to steady yourself either. I urge the hotel to provide a Bath mat in each room to mitigate this risk. But for this I’d have scored it 4. Breakfast is taken in the basement and I thought it fine. All the staff we spoke to were pleasant and professional.
ผผู้เข้าพักThe good: Great location, right next to Garibaldi train station. Plenty of places to eat nearby. The lift is great. It does have a slot to put 10 cents in, but if you don't have a ten cent coin, the lift still works. The bad: We had booked and paid for 14 nights to stay at Chez Moi. We arrived on the first day at 6:00 p.m. We phoned the owner, and he sent a woman around. We followed her into the reception area. She then told us we couldn't stay there. After having read other reviews, I thought ”OK we're going to be sent around the corner to the Hotel Poker”, which is what Chez Moi does sometimes. But no, we weren't that fortunate. She repeated that we couldn't stay there. I showed her the proof that we had booked and paid (using both my phone and paper printouts) but she said we couldn't stay. She then escorted us out of the premises and locked the door. I understand that mix-ups happen sometimes, but there's no need to humiliate your guests like that. I phoned our travel company (who had made the booking) and they said they would contact the owner of Chez Moi to sort it out. After a couple of hours, I rang them again, and then a few more times. A couple of times, someone from Chez Moi would turn up and tell us we couldn't stay. I said ”Can you at least give me my money back so we can find somewhere else?” But they would just walk away. We spent most of the night sitting on the steps outside of the B&B with our suitcases. We made the other guests who walked past us feel very uncomfortable. I think they thought we were beggars, and seeing us made them feel anxious. But we were paying guests just like them. Finally at 3:30 a.m., 9½ hours after arriving, I received an email (thankfully I still had a few percent of battery left on my phone) from my travel company saying Chez Moi had overbooked and had no rooms left, and we should find somewhere else to stay. It was too late to find anywhere at that time, but I'm happy to say we did get somewhere else for the other 13 nights. We know the treatment we received at Chez Moi does not represent the rest of the Neapolitan people. We would go back to Naples. But we don't want to go to a B&B that treats its paying guests with contempt. Note to Chez Moi: It seems like you have a nice place, and it's in a great location, but please learn from this experience, and start treating your guests as humans – thank you.
ผผู้เข้าพักI had a short overnight stay so the location is ideal about 400m walking from the main train station. Although a good location it is not a good area at night, a lot of homeless people but there are also some nice restaurants on Garabaldi Square and good coffee shops nearby for pastries and coffee for breakfast. The Hotel reception is on the 2nd floor of the building, big staircase and as others say no lift. Not good for older people or if you have big luggage to carry. The Checkin was fine, the man explained the basics and took me to my room. The cleanliness was perfect, so clean, plenty of fresh white towels, and bathroom was spotless, no problem there. He also gave me the remote control for the air conditioning and that also worked really great so you could sleep well. Bed was fine, seemed clean also, as someone said Quirky decoration. And surprisingly quiet. So if you aren’t after a fancy hotel room it’s fine. Only Basic liquid soap amenity supplied. The Front door is locked at 8 pm, and the hotel rooms access, they give you a keys to access, so it seems quite safe, closing early in that area is probably a good thing . Easy to walk to the Old Town and all the sights.
Super consigliato.
