Upon arriving, I actually thought the property was quaint and charming. The room was small but acceptable. Then the nightmare began. There was a large rectangular hole in the bathroom wall that opened directly into the adjoining room—no screen, no cover, nothing. Around midnight, a pair of extremely loud, rowdy guests arrived next door, and I could hear every single thing, including her screaming for toilet paper. Even when they lowered their voices, I still heard everything. Sleep was impossible.
To make it worse, they left their bathroom light on, which shone straight into my room through that absurd opening. Then a fetid sewage odor began seeping into my room. In a space that small, there was nowhere to escape it.
When staff finally appeared in the morning, I went straight to the front desk. The woman said she’d send someone to clear the drain—which thankfully stopped the smell—and also said she’d have someone cover the hole between the rooms. Of course, that was never done.
And every morning, the cleaning staff gathered right outside my door, talking and laughing loudly enough to wake anyone. Between the noise, the smell, and that ridiculous wall opening, this stay was infuriating. I highly doubt I’d ever return and, most definitely, would not recommend it to anybody.
