Recently returned from a wonderful holiday and would struggle to find fault with this resort. I would recommend taking the seaplane transfer. We were escorted to the lounge where snacks, soft drinks, tea and coffee were provided. It’s worth packing a change of clothes as the seaplane is pretty hot since there is no AC. There are also showers available in the lounge, which can be very welcome after a long flight. We only had to wait 80 minutes for the seaplane transfer. (I did hear of guests who took the internal flight/boat transfer and it took them 12 hours to get from Male airport to the resort). The seaplane journey is spectacular. We stayed in beach villas and were very happy with this choice. The room was huge, the minibar was replenished every day plus tea and coffee) , bed was very comfortable, loved the outdoor shower (we never used the one in the bathroom). There was a turndown service in the evening and water was replenished again then. Good to see plastic is not used and water is in glass bottles, which is the resort’s environmental policy. Some more coat hangers would have been useful as there were not many provided. Our room attendant did a tremendous job and kept our room spotless. We were very fortunate being there when occupancy was low (mid/late April). This meant the restaurants were never busy, even at peak times. We could not fault the standard and choice of food. The main buffet restaurant had a different theme each evening, so we didn’t find it repetitive and there was always a wide selection. Shout out to the lovely Sri Lankan chef, unfortunately didn’t get his name, who was always very welcoming. Breakfast finished at 9.30am, which was quite early. Perhaps extending to 10am would be good, although I am aware a few breakfast items are available at Haliboli once the restaurants close. We dined at the Indian restaurant Sufura a few times and the food was lovely. The a la carte restaurant, Thavaa needs to be booked and you can have 1 dinner and 1 lunch there weekly. Again the food was great. We didn’t have any problem getting booked as the resort was quiet, but would recommend you book as soon as you get there. Cafe Mass, which did burgers, pizzas, sandwiches and salads was good if you didn’t fancy going to the restaurant. We did the complimentary dolphin and sunset cruises. Unfortunately we didn’t see any dolphins and the sunset was too cloudy! But the boat trips were enjoyable. Additional trips/experiences/dining options are available, but are pricey and we didn’t feel the need to try them. The bar staff at Haliboli were very attentive - special thanks to Keppi and Alif. Both always had a smile on their face and they looked after us very well. One thing I found strange was the only place I could get certain drinks (eg Marguerita, Mojito) without having to pay extra, was at the Albino bar. The other bars charged - don’t know the rationale behind that policy. Water shoes are beneficial as there can be sharp pieces
