So pleasantly surprised with this hotel. We had stayed at the adjoined/sister property about a year ago and it was disgusting. I was nervous about staying here bc I figured maybe it had the same management and cleaning staff. The reviews are still kind of negative even after the renovation. Both visits were due to hockey games in the area and we do not get to pick our accommodations. But, this hotel ended up being great! I’d stay there again without hesitation. The lobby is pretty. The exercise room has everything you could need including a wide range of free weights. The free breakfast was one of the best we’ve had. There was a buffet of fresh fruit, sausage, scrambled eggs, French toast, home fries, and even a made to order omelette station. The man working that prepared a delicious egg white omelette with all the veggies for me. The renovation here was extensive. You can tell the bones and design of the hotel are older but the decor is very modern. As some mention, the aesthetics are a bit strange….not sure why anyone would knock a review score down for it… it’s just some color clashing. I actually appreciate the attempt and some of it works quite nicely…and some not. Whatever. The room is spacious and has a nice couch, chair, ottoman, and desk. There is a large wall mounted tv with all the connectivity ports you could want. There are outlets and usb ports galore. Lots of lamps, and bed lights, etc. The blackout curtains are true blackouts. There is a small fridge and microwave along with an extra sink and counter space. The bathroom is very well done. Nice marble/tile, lighting, etc. The beds are comfortable and the linens are nice, too. And there is another tv in the bedroom. We were happy all around with our stay here. Just be sure to stay on the Embassy Suites side and not the Homewood Suites side….it is night and day.
