Was a pleasant stay. Breakfast could have been better. Only had waffles, cereal, bread items, not the usual eggs and other hot fixins. Bathroom in my room had some details missed, but the rest of the room was nice. For the price, you can't beat it, especially if you get the rewards member discount.
Me and 2 of my kids are currently staying here because my 16 year old is in the Jr. Gold national bowling tournament. My brother who lives in Grand Rapids recommended this hotel and I'm glad he did. The 2 ladies who were working the front desk when we checked in were very friendly. Every day so far the one who checked me in has asked how my son did bowling which adds to the personal touch which I love. Our room was clean and comfortable and we enjoyed the pool as well. The fitness center is one of the best I've seen in a hotel. On top of treadmills and ellipticals which a lot of hotels have they have a leg curl and leg extension machine, cable crossovers and dumbbells that go up to 45 lbs. and 2 benches. If you're in the area I would definitely recommend staying here.
this hotel was clean and comfortable, would recommend to other travelers. a little skimpy on the amenities, one small bar of soap for two people. not the usual holiday inn. restaurant was closed so don't plan on eating there. breakfast was ok but very limited selections.
Very comfortable beds, quiet, nice lobby and courtyard where we hung out with friends after returning from out 60th H.S. Reunion. Rooms were clean and very nice, but also are being updated and renovated right now. Bistro [breakfast] staff were friendly as can be, food came out of the kitchen promptly, with any empty dish cleared immediately. The staff were the best part. Front desk clerk Ashley helped us by printing a small document I needed from my e-mail on my phone, housekeeping manager Denise immediately offered assistance without being asked, to a tablemate who choked on his food, and I could go on and on about their kindnesses, always with a smile and great eye contact. The manger was very responsive to inquiries and requests, too. These folks each have a great personality and have been well trained. One of the Bistro staff was having great concern over family and friends suffering this weekend form the fires in Lahaina, Maui, but was attentive and professional in spite of her personal angst. A good value, we will stay here again.
The room was clean. The bedding was fresh. The bathroom had been nicely updated with soap, shampoo, creams, etc. mounted on the wall, allowing more counter space. Plenty of towels. The room is rather small but with everything needed. For an inexpensive hotel, we were impressed with their attention to detail.
I usually like staying here because of the location, breakfast and ability to use the digital key from my phone. I usually stay here several times a year in the same room in the back of the hotel due to convenience, but this time there were a couple of issues. I always get a digital key so I can limit my interactions with others and often because I fly in really late and like to go straight to my room. Unfortunately, this time the digital key did not work on the outside door and this was very disappointing, considering I arrived at about 2 AM with all my luggage in tow. Luckily someone was going in at the same time so I was able to go in with her and the digital key worked fine on my room door. The second day though the same thing happened as I arrived about 10 pm and again, luckily someone was coming out so I was able to go to my room that’s night. By it being late both nights I just reported this to the front desk to get a regular key for the outside door and also to inform them that remote entry is not working with a digital key and they should have someone fix this for those that have rooms at the back of the hotel. I also had problems with my sink clogging and draining really slow. I reported this to the front desk and asked for maintenance, but they never came to fix it. The toilet is also still loose and needs to be fixed (this was also an issue when I came in October and it looks like no one has fixed this either). lastly I was staying for five days so on day 3, I asked for the bathroom to be refreshed and had to call a second time after waiting about 3-4 hours to have someone come. They were nice, but unfortunately I was again disappointed when I took a shower and there was still no body wash available. I don’t know what is going on at this location, but they really need to get it together.
ผผู้เข้าพักStayed a weekend here while attending a volleyball event downtown Detroit. Paid half the price of staying downtown and it was only about a 15-20 minute drive in so it wasn't bad. Check in was easy, room was clean and although there was some cosmetic things that could be fixed, it was at least clean. Wasn't able to use the pool or fitness area, but they both looked clean from the door. Though I heard the pool was out of towels and there was a lot of water in the hallway leading to pool. We had an issue with our fridge, but they rectified that to our satisfaction, beyond what we would expect. The only complaint (use that lightly) is that we had to leave the hotel by 7:05 to get downtown in time and we asked if it was possible to get breakfast before 7:00 and it was a flat ”no”. Worth a try I guess as most other hotels are very accomodating to this and will even offer to go bags ready to go for early departures. Just an idea for future, perhaps.
Please save your sanity and stay somewhere else.. it's so bad that I'm spending my spare time writing this review to warn others not to make the same mistake to save a few dollars. anywhere is better than here. most of the guests are full time residents and there is trash Everywhere. front desk is Nasty, especially the obese manager (why I avoided the property for so long in the 1st place) Beware of the checkout scam they are running... office hours are only 11am to 7pm and CLOSED Sunday. front desk will not check you out. Required to download the redroof app to complete checkout!! or your card on file is charged $21.80.. even if you left the room way before the deadline and notify them (they do not give you a warning courtesy call or housekeeping knock)... they refer you to the app and brag amongst each other that everyone gets charged. fyi .. be prepared to go without internet bc wifi does not connect (requires authentication, but just times out.. tried relentlessly for 48 hrs) the deposit POSTED to my account so before I disputed it, I called and asked if they ”charge the deposit/then refund it....or authorize it only (so it drops off eventually)” and the girl said my question makes no sense, ”charging and authorizing is the same thing” and then says I am insulting her intelligence when I asked her to ask her manager so I can get a real answer instead of her guessing. that's what you'll be dealing with. a hotel front desk that believes charging a card and authorizing a card is the same thing.
