We were excited about the promises made by the hotel, but unfortunately, our stay did not meet expectations. Special breakfasts for bikers: Although the breakfast was good, we couldn't figure out what made it special for bikers. It seemed like a regular breakfast. Bicycle storage room: The so-called bicycle storage room was actually an old ski-room outside with barely enough space for our bikes. There was an indoor bike storage room, but it was being used as storage for the restaurant, making it inaccessible to us. Bicycle wash: We were unable to wash our bikes as there was no equipment or hose available. We were told it was either broken or nonexistent. Security issues: On the last day, they started working on the parking space and attempted to lift the old ski container with our bikes inside. This left our bikes, worth approximately $10,000, vulnerable for damage. Restaurant: The food was good, but the pricing was outrageous. A single T-bone steak for $80 is simply overpriced. Overall, the hotel did not deliver on its promises, especially for bikers. We hope they improve these aspects for future guests.

This is a very basic hotel , the lobby and face of the hotel is beautiful witb a gorgeous fairy lit restaurant part but the rooms are ugly and dated ( 90s) small and cramped . There was only 2 sockets in our room 108 and that left us with stress to charge our devices , use tv/hairdryer 🙄the shower was so cramped you had to slide in sideways and the soap kept running out . No kettle or fridge which is a must is a small room in the alps . The breakfast was nice enough but lots of processed food very little was actually prepared except some fruit /breads , the egg lady was the most friendly in the hotel with others a bit aloof although think that is because they knew lil English . There was no body of water to relax in after skiing , should be a bath at least in the rooms or maybe a jacuzzi in the freezing cold wellness area . Very mediocre hotel despite its facade on the outside . My husband loved the fire pit outside but I stand by the fur coat no knickers title ! Worth a mention too that we ate in the restaurant twice and both times they tried to shove us into the breakfast room part to eat , don’t know who they were trying to save the fairy lit restaurant for it was always half empty

Hotel Astra is a real Livigno gem - great location, friendly staff and nice atmosphere. We stayed for 8 days and enjoyed every minute of it. The common areas have been upgraded relatively recently and ooze comfort and friendliness with their glass, stone, wood combination. A lift has been added, which makes all floors easily accessible. That includes the basement floor, where the underground parking is located (convenient, safe and dry, which saves you the hassle of digging your car from underneath the frequently heavy snowfalls in the Livigno valley). The rooms are slightly dated but very clean and comfortable, with full bathroom amenities. The beds were extremely comfortable, which is somewhat rare. The location is very convenient, very close to the Doss ski lift, which makes it almost a ski-in ski-out, but also within walking distance of the Carosello 3000 gondola. The bus stop is right outside the hotel, giving you the option to ride into town or the Mottolino side of the resort. Breakfast was exceptional, with a sufficient variety of high quality pastries, croissants, meat cuts, cheeses, gluten-free products, delicious jams, as well as fresh orange juice and a live cooking station where you can order any type of egg dish. All in all, extremely good value for money and we would definitely enjoy coming back :)
