I had read all the reviews and saw several complaints about the ”alley” which one has to pass through from parking garage to hotel. It's not an alley, at all. It's a gated, wrought-iron fenced, landscaped walkway which passes through a courtyard between the hotel and a set of condos. I thought it was quite charming (see attached photos.) It wasn't that long of a walk and I would say if a person can't carry their luggage that far, they either have too much luggage or too little exercise. The parking garage is gated, as well, and restricted to hotel guests and condo-dwellers. I didn't know how to rate this hotel so I'm just going to list the pros and cons (imo) and one can decide for themselves. Pros: - Staff were all very kind; always smiling and pleasant. - Price is right. - Beds were comfortable and sheets were clean; slept well. - Room and bathroom were clean and pretty roomy. - Carpet felt clean (didn't feel grungy like some hotels I've been in.) - A/C worked great. - On ground floor level, the elevators and all doors, and outside gate entrances, can only by accessed via one's room key. - Check in was fairly quick. - About 2 blocks from River Market District - Breakfast was ok. Cons: - A bit lackadaisical in maintenance and upkeep. - Although room was clean, there was ”wear and tear” in the room; scuffs on the wall; stains on the carpet; a little grimy on the door around the door handle - needed a good, deep clean. - The large shampoo dispenser in the shower was empty (not a big deal for us as we always carry shampoo.) - Toilet very slow to flush. - The spin cycle, on the washing machines, was set to only spin for a few minutes. When the cycle finished, the clothes were still so wet that they were just barely past the point of dripping. (That means they take longer to dry.) We dried them 2 times and they were still damp. We finally elected to put the damp clothes in a bag and take them to a laundrymat to finish drying. Cost of both the washer and the dryer is $1.50 per cycle. (Come on, Hampton; I expect this of cheap laundromats, but not an ”moderately upscale” hotel.) - No coin machine in laundry and front desk was out of change. - Breakfast is 6am-10am. A large group (15-20 people) went thru the breakfast area and completely consumed several items (no problem); the problem was that those items were never refilled/replaced for other hotel guests, and just left empty. If breakfast is 4 hours, then there needs to be all items available for 4 hours. This could be a really nice place with just a little upkeep, management and maintenance.
All I expect from hotels/motels is for them to be clean, have a good hot shower, and a comfortable bed/pillows. This motel 6 was in a good location (safe and little road noise) was very clean, had a great shower, and the bed/pillows were one of the most comfortable I’ve slept on. I bring my own soap and always request a room close to the lobby so coffee is near in the morning. I learned all hotels have the better coffee in the lobby anyways. If you just need a good, clean place to get a shower and a good night sleep for half the price some of the other chains, this it. Only thing you need to be prepared for is the $50 security deposit. If you don’t have cash, it takes up to 10 days to get a refund. It seems a little inconvenient to those of us that doesn’t try to steal the paint off the walls…but I get it. There are people that steal or destroy everything they touch with no second thought.
This is a very nice hotel and I believe it to be relatively new. Room decor was nice and the pillows were the nice comfy ones with a choice of firmness. We had a late checkin after 7:00 PM, but that was not a problem. Stanley at the desk was friendly and accommodating. He gave an air of professionalism in the way he handled his job. We chose this location after looking at reviews and because of price. The Cabot, AR location was a little closer but staying in Sherwood saved us about $30 over the price in Cabot. We got in our first room and found that the air conditioning unit was literally frozen over and while it was running, it was not cooling. Hubby made a quick trip downstairs and Stanley moved us to a new room. A minor inconvenience as I had not unpacked any luggage. I had read a review that said someone with the same issue was not given a different room, but that was not the case for us. I still love that this stay and the last stay at Holiday Inn Express both had small Keurig coffee makers in the room with K-cups. Before bed I made myself a cup of tea. There was plenty of coffee and tea K-cups but there was only one packet with sugar, creamer and coffee stirrers. I also like that they still use plastic liners in their garbage cans. Much more sanitary than not using them. The one thing that I usually use is the dirty clothes bag in the closet but that was missing. A minor inconvenience. Breakfast was the usual fair of cereal, muffins, bagels and warm (or should have been) food of scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, premade omelets and potatoes. They had just put out fresh bacon so it was hot and good. But, nothing else was hot or really even warm. I felt the warmer and it felt hot but I suspect that maybe no water was put in the bottom. But that is only a guess. I’m not a complainer, so I did not mention it to the breakfast hostess. A plus was the automatic pancake maker that made small pancakes in one minute at the push of a button. Coffee was good. Their new cinnamon rolls are delicious. Overall this was a good stay but would have been great with hot food, adequate coffee condiments and a laundry bag. Still a good value for the price.
I recently stayed at Motel 6 Little Rock South, and I had a great experience. The staff was friendly and accommodating, making check-in a breeze. The room was clean and comfortable, providing all the essentials I needed for my stay. The location is convenient, with easy access to nearby attractions and dining options. Plus, the affordability makes it a fantastic value. Overall, I highly recommend Motel 6 Little Rock South for anyone looking for a budget-friendly and pleasant stay.
The staff earned all 5 stars. From the jump, Destiny & Bobbie helped me with reservations for me and my family. Chef Ray and Cali were so attentive to making sure breakfast was good. Then Jessica (oh Jessica) who made my evenings so much better with just the right cocktail to help me unwind. The entire staff was AMAZING!
Stayed here for four nights. The hotel is near the freeway and behind a Wal-Mart. This is a nicely managed hotel that is clean and roomy. Check in was quick and easy. The staff at the hotel are very professional and helpful. The lobby and rooms were kept clean. Our room was a studio that had a small living room with a decent size TV and a separate bedroom with a small TV. The room was clean and equipped with a microwave and small refrigerator. There was plenty of counter space in the bathroom and a combination tub/shower. We did not run out of hot water, but the water pressure was weak. The room was quiet. The breakfast was average and typical for this class of hotel. We would stay here again if visiting the area again.
We only stayed here for one night recently. I’ll start by saying that the hotel has a great location. It feels safe. We checked in via app with no issues. Prior to checking in, Clarence stayed in touch with us and even made a courtesy call. I can appreciate that. The hotel’s decor was very nice and the layout of the suite was very nice. It has great space. Traveling as a family, we need space. Upon entering the room though, we noticed multiple stains on the couch. We had an appointment immediately after check-in so I wasn’t able to complete my full inspection. When we returned, we wanted to go straight to bed. We had a double room so I did a quick check over one bed and the other I didn’t inspect so well. In the middle of the night, we noticed stains on the second bed. The stains were on the pillows too. It looked like hair dye but who knows. There’s no way the cleaning staff could have missed these stains. Very disappointing. The room was showing signs of wear and tear, but not too bad to complain about. I will say that the front desk staff was nice and accommodating. My main concerns about hotels are safety and cleanliness. It’s the oversight of the cleanliness of the bed that impacted the rating. Would I stay here again, not sure. It may not be my first choice, but I can’t say that it wouldn’t happen.
PPatty EThis is the most magnificent hotel I have ever had the pleasure of staying at! The property itself is gorgeous, our large room was perfect, and the bed was so very comfortable with the most fluffy pillows! We ate at the Capital Grill and while the portions were rather small, it did leave room for dessert which was delicious. Breakfast in the One Eleven restaurant was superb both mornings. We were able to watch the 4th of July fireworks from the porch of the hotel. A great experience! Compared to similar priced hotels, the Capital Hotel was head and shoulders above and exceeded my expectations both in comfort and value. You have to stay here if in Little Rock! I know I will again.
Highly recommend! Kudos to the staff and management. This stay ticked all the ”EXCELLENT” boxes. Room is clean and well-equipped. Parking lot is clean and has good lighting at night. Bed is comfortable. HVAC works as it should. Decent complimentary breakfast with HOT coffee, hot breakfast sandwiches, make-you-own waffles, etc. Room has an above average kitchenette. I did not need that on this trip, but will keep it in mind for leisure trips. Also pet friendly -- big plus! -- and the hotel common areas are spotless despite the presence of some big, friendly dogs. EVERY staff interaction was positive. Special thanks to Kelvin who went above and beyond to help me resolve an issue with printing to the guest printer when my laptop was uncooperative. Could not be more pleased. What a contrast to the last hotel. I checked out in Rogers, AR, on Friday morning and drove down to Little Rock for the final two nights of this marathon business trip. Worked late last night and was so very happy to return to a cool and comfortable hotel room with the bed made and towels replaced. I am well rested, had a good breakfast, and ready to drive six hours home. Thank you, Home2Suites!
The Staff was Always Very Friendly, and Very Courteous, and was always very Joyful to be around and always asking if we needed anything and how we were doing , and the room was Very Clean and and the ac worked great I like cold air All in All we had a Pleasant stay will go back for Sure Thank You
VVeronique WThey are still under construction so be aware, everyone is super nice, the rooms were crazy clean. I think we got a room that had not been fully upgraded yet, but it was still clean. The only down fall was the bed , it felt like they took all of the cushion out of the mattress and added rocks instead, and the pillows weren't better. I also think if they did a small breakfast downstairs that would be nice. But all in all it was a good stay, nice grounds
