A large group of us stayed here while attending a concert in the nearby milk market. The rooms were lovely and spacious. It worked out at about €60 per person with a really nice cooked breakfast, with 4 per room. The location was perfect but bare in mind it is over a bar so was noisy until the early hours. I would recommend to any one and would definitely recommend for a decent, cheap spot in the city. It was clean and well maintained. No parking on site but there was a multi-storey next door that was very reasonable.
I arrived in Limerick early - around noon. This was the first leg of my road trip of Ireland. On the off-chance, went up to the delightful receptionist to ask if there was any way I could get early check in or store my suitcase somewhere. With a nod and a smile she responded ”no problem - your room is ready now and we have upgraded you to a lovely room”. I mean, win-win at this point. Was offered help with luggage but declined - though offer still a nice touch. Went up to the room and it was simply amazing. As a regular solo-traveller, I am all to often chucked into the tiniest rooms. This was fit for a king. I couldn't believe my luck. I felt like a celebrity! Don't know what I did to deserve this - maybe just pot luck?! Parked the car across the road above Dunnes (you get discounted parking there). Came back and just had to thank the receptionist for the lovely room. She was an absolute delight to talk to - ever so friendly. Was shown the bar (I needed a drink as the roads in Lim are mental, like!). The room was exactly like the pictures. Super clean, smell gorgeous, well decorated, modern but elegant. Lovely toiletries. Nespresso coffee maker. Plenty of free drinking water. Corridors and the rest of the hotel equally immaculate and smell beautiful. The Savoy, for me at least, ticks every box and gets things right. A classy, elegant hotel but not snotty and exclusive. It's tricky to strike that balance. I like somewhere nice to stay whilst not being looked down upon. Great location too - slap bang in the middle of town - lots of shops and attractions nearby. Thank You Savoy and your staff. It helped make my Irish road trip an unforgettable, enjoyable memory. So much so, I am doing it again next year and will see you again soon!
Positives: Good sized room and king sized bed. Negatives: drain in room sink was full of something brown and disgusting. One shower door off it's track. Some kind of disco went on way past midnight. Very loud hard to sleep. Others in our group had already called management and nothing was done so we didn't bother. Bar: went in at 4:30 pm for an Irish coffee. Took 15 minutes to come and we were on a time constraint. Others in our group had plain coffee so it wasn't because it needed brewing. It was delicious when it came That night because of the disco noise in the room we went to the bar for a drink, also very slow service
We came to this hotel to attend a gig at (the stadium) the location was excellent, perfect for us to walk into town and then onto the venue which was exactly what we were after. There were also good bars and restaurants on the doorstep. The room was clean and very spacious with a nice bathroom and shower. The staff were helpful with recommendations for places to go too and we enjoyed exactly the experience we required for our weekend.
Stayed here with my daughter who was competing in sports trials in UL the following day. Could not sleep because of music coming from function room that was so loud you could hear it over the tv. The first time I rang reception I was told it would be finished by 11pm. At 11 30 I rang again and was told it would be going until 2am and there was nothing they could do about it, the room shouldn't have been allocated but there was no other room to move us to. This was my 3rd time staying in this hotel for UL events but never again. Would not recommend especially if god forbid you actuatlly expect to sleep.
Stayed here countless times in last 20 years cleanliness of rooms and friendly housekeepers always coax us back This time breakfast service was chaotic Sunday in particular no tables cleared and food choices limited in the non fry area When you are paying c 400 for a couple of nights surely better service is key Maybe understaffed who knows We love the convenience of the Hotel and its busy atmosphere but could do better at the food/bar end of keeping customers on board
From the very second we pulled up at the entrance of this beautiful boutique hotel until the minute we left, we were in a state of total relaxation and peace of mind. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. The beds were extremely comfortable and decor was luscious. The whole ambience was zen and wonderful. Very close to city centre and a lovely park right across the road, best of both worlds. The food and the cocktails were also fantastic. Looking forward to returning very soon.
PPauline WWe have stayed in the Kilmurry on a number of occasions and always found it the perfect ‘home away from home’. Spotlessly clean with very comfortable, quiet rooms. The staff are outstanding. Competent and friendly. We also love the evening atmosphere in Nelligan’s Bar. Breakfast is delicious and plentiful. Our one complaint was the cost of a basic room. € 353 /£296 for one night B & B in an Executive double which, although comfortable and clean, seemed a bit steep. B & B in a luxury room in a good Hotel in Kensington (London) only cost £278.
005617811I have just returned from this hotel after a long weekend with 5 girlfriends. We honestly had the best time here. The staff couldn’t do enough for us…we were really well looked after. The room was bright, the beds comfortable with good pillows. Tea/coffee/water was provided in the room each day. Breakfast was exceptionally good…a vast selection of choices and great quality and well presented. We loved the friendliness of the locals and the bar was warm and welcoming. We ate here one evening and again the food was fabulous. A small selection of wines but they were great quality…and have obviously been well selected. I definitely recommend a stay here and have no doubt that I will return….
