"A Reflection on My Stay at Lanzhou Zhongzhou Huayue Hotel I recently had my inaugural stay at the Lanzhou Zhongzhou Huayue Hotel, which had only been open for a few days. The staff were impeccably trained, youthful, attractive, and greeted me with genuine smiles. In just 24 short hours, I was treated to one delightful surprise after another, making it a truly unforgettable experience. The interior design of the hotel absolutely astonished me. From the walls to the floors, high-end stone adornments, bathed in a kaleidoscope of colorful lights, shimmered with vibrant hues. It exuded an air of noble elegance, refined luxury, and a profound sense of cultural heritage and charm. As night fell, the water fountain danced with interweaving lights, illuminating the surrounding buildings and outlining dynamic patterns that instantly brightened the darkness. This wasn't just a hotel; it was a mesmerizing visual spectacle, dazzling and captivating, making me want to linger indefinitely. It truly allowed me to deeply appreciate the captivating fusion of technology and art, and I was in awe of the immense hard work and wisdom invested by its creators. My room was spacious, bright, sophisticated, and equipped with smart, modern facilities. It featured a luxurious king-size bed and premium amenities. There was a computer for internet access and a desk for writing. With a large sofa, a smaller one, coffee and tea-making facilities, and a refrigerator, everything was thoughtfully provided and complete. Was this a hotel? It felt more like my dream home! The hotel's dining options boasted six major culinary styles with a rich variety. Breakfast was a delightful blend of Chinese and Western dishes, served in an elegant setting with exquisite tableware. The ingredients were fresh and the flavors delicious. A server explained that most of the ingredients come from the hotel's own 800-mu organic farm, ensuring self-sufficiency and pesticide-free produce. With so many delectable choices, I was spoilt for choice! Unfortunately, due to limited time, I only managed to quickly savor a cup of coffee – rich in aroma and mellow in taste. I regretted not having enough time to watch a movie, swim in the pristine heated pool, work out in the modern gym, or relax in the starlit garden. However, the most memorable part of my stay at the Lanzhou Zhongzhou Huayue Hotel was the Yangzhou back scrub. I had long heard of the Yangzhou back scrub, an intangible cultural heritage. Legend has it that Emperor Qianlong himself experienced it during his tour to the south, which brought it widespread fame. Filled with curiosity, yet a hint of skepticism, I ventured in lightly. As it was my first time, I even researched the process and watched videos online. After a full 100 minutes, I was utterly convinced and wonderfully relaxed. My technician was a petite, slender woman in her 40s, a mother of a teenager. Speaking a non-standard Mandarin, she revealed she had left her hometown of Yangzhou, coming from a renowned scrubbing establishment with 10-20 years of experience. Upon entering the room, my eyes were immediately drawn to a clean pool of 40°C warm water infused with rose petals and herbal sachets. Guided by the technician's gentle greetings, reminders, and support, I slowly entered the pool. As the warm currents flowed over me, my fatigue dissolved like smoke in the steam. When I saw the technician professionally and skillfully wrap her arm in three layers of towel, mirroring the precise movements from the videos, I felt a huge sense of reassurance. Unlike traditional scrub cloths that can be harsh on the skin and damage the stratum corneum, the towel technique exfoliates gently without harming the flesh, leaving the skin radiant and clear without redness. During the full-body hot compress, I was covered with six small towels and one large towel. Forty-degree warm water was poured from my neck to my back, down to my thighs and calves. This thermal treatment left my entire back feeling open and thoroughly relaxed. The palm and fist tapping session offered three levels of intensity, adjusted for different ages. Administered at 60 beats per minute, synchronized with my heartbeat, the tapping was light yet firm, making even my breathing feel clearer. This was followed by a fresh milk massage, which left my skin silky smooth, with the scent of milky roses permeating my senses. A delicate copper pot was then used for a warm back massage, providing comforting heat. The experience concluded perfectly with a hair wash, head massage, shower, and refreshing tea and snacks. I truly felt like royalty. More than just a simple cleansing, the Yangzhou back scrub is a traditional therapeutic practice. Rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine theory, it combines various techniques, using the technician's skilled tapping and massaging to relieve muscle tension, alleviate psychological stress, promote blood circulation, and resolve stagnation. I, who often struggled with sleep and never slept soundly, found myself drifting into a deep, peaceful slumber on the comfortable bed in the silent, dark night. My heartfelt thanks to the Lanfang Zhongzhou Huayue Hotel's back scrub technician for her professionalism, dedication, patience, meticulousness, and thoughtfulness. She melted away my travel fatigue and gifted me a wonderful start to a new day. This experience also made me realize that back scrubs and massages aren't just for men. Mothers who care for their children, and middle-aged and elderly women, while loving their families, should also prioritize caring for and nurturing themselves. This stay far exceeded my expectations. I was greeted with a fruit platter upon arrival and even received a gift box upon departure. I ate happily, slept comfortably, felt at ease, and was thoroughly satisfied. The Lanzhou Zhongzhou Huayue Hotel truly lived up to its name, delighting its guests and enriching their experience. Goodbye Lanzhou! Goodbye, Lanzhou Zhongzhou Huayue Hotel! I believe we will meet again in the not-too-distant future!"
