"The hotel is located on quiet corner, at the start of Barra da Tijuca. There aren't amenities in walking distance, but there is a cafe across the street and a couple upscale restaurants. It has a sauna on demand and a gym, but the best is the beach - guarded, good for surfing and swimming. The room was large, with enough closet space for a longer solo stay. The bed was huge, very comfy, great shower. Breakfast has a lot of fruit and pastry variety, including local options."

"Quedamos muy contentos con la estadía en el hotel, ubicado en un lugar muy tranquilo de Barra da Ti juca frente a la playa y a un hermoso muelle , todo el personal ha sido muy amable y servicial, a toda hora y los distintos turnos. El desayuno imponente, amplio horario y de buena calidad. Las habitaciones un poco pequeñas, la vista por la ventana hermosa, faltaría algún mueble con puertas para guardar la ropa y que no se esté viendo para que la habitación se vea mas prolija, el servicio de limpieza muy bien, pasaban todos los días y consultaban si queríamos cambiar sábanas , toallas, jabón, shampoo, siempre amables . Tienen servicio de locker en la oficina del hall que nos fue muy útil. Le falta una piscina y seria perfecta. En resumen muy recomendable."

"Great hotel! Honestly don’t have a single complaint. I have been travelling for months now and this was by far the cleanest hotel we stayed at with the best service and amenities (despite having stayed at more expensive ones). Really nice and helpful staff and very good and flexible room service. On top of it all the views are crazy. The hotel is a 2 minute walk from the beach and about a 5-10 minute walk to restaurants. To improve the experience it would have been nice if they provided things like toothbrushes, tooth paste, etc which I’ve received at other hotels but those are extras that definitely don’t affect the rating or experience."

"This property has the potential to be amazing, but it needs a few key updates. The location is fabulous, the staff is excellent, and the restaurant is great both in terms of service and food quality. The room was spacious, and the balcony was unbeatable. If you only speak English, you can get by staying here because all of the staff speak excellent English. We encountered a problem when the showerhead broke off, but the repairman came reasonably quickly to replace it, and he was very polite and not disruptive. We ordered room service, and Dom Rio, the hotel’s restaurant, delivered it quickly. I had the filet which was cooked properly to the correct temperature (medium rare). My fiancé had the alfredo pasta which she liked a lot. The breakfast had a huge selection, and everything tasted good. The only thing keeping this hotel from earning top marks is the general state of much of the decor in the rooms. The curtains look shabby and dirty from moisture, and the wood of the cabinets is warped also. It is very hard to maintain a room that is constantly exposed to salt water and ocean breeze, but the materials chosen have not stood up to age. I would recommend staying here if you are interested in staying in Barra at a nice but reasonably priced hotel, but don’t expect the finest luxury. Expect a very large, fairly clean room with a comfortable bed and an amazing view."
