Stayed at this small hotel for the third time This year we were in a king room with outside access over the pool area with sea view There had been some comments about the doors and although they were slightly difficult to open we had no real problems The room was well equipped and maintained to a good standard The layout had changed from a previous visit due to the new doors and this meant you could not see the TV from the sofa but not a major problem There is a shortage of space for clothes if you are staying for more than a couple of days The hotel breakfast is good with eggs cooked to order a wide range of pastries, fruit and yoghurt and a choice of milk to suit those with intolerances There is a pool bar providing drinks and snacks all day The hotel is a little way out of town but we enjoyed our daily half hour walk to the marina and old town area There is a wide choice of restaurants in the old town The hotel has good free parking with shaded canopies Reception was efficient and checking in very easy with no need to use the app which was mentioned in the pre booking information If you wish for a friendly good value hotel in a quiet position with lots of sun beds available then this is a good choice for a short stay holiday near Lagos
Combine history and culture with beachside bliss when you holiday at the stylish Tivoli Lagos Hotel. Occupying a central location in the Algarve city of Lagos, it’s close to the marina and old town, where you can walk down narrow cobbled streets dotted with ancient churches and alfresco cafes. You’re a 10-minute drive from gorgeous beaches too.
The hotel’s 296 elegant rooms all have a balcony or terrace that overlooks the resort, Lagos or Atlantic Ocean. Our top-floor suite even has views that stretch all the way across the city and beach to Portimao. All rooms are air conditioned and equipped with flat-screen TVs, minibars and safes.
At breakfast, you can fill up on fruit, pastries, cold meats, yogurts and eggs to energize you for the day ahead. We have four restaurants, including a classic Italian and an authentic Portuguese eatery that comes highly recommended. At our main bar you can enjoy an aperitif or live music evenings.
Guests love our many quirky indoor and outdoor public spaces, and the hotel’s Duna Beach Club on the white sands of Meia Praia is the perfect spot for pool parties and weddings.
We have been visiting the Hotel Belavista for over 20 years now and have always had a most enjoyable holiday here. The hotel staff are extremely pleasant and helpful, Elke and Zinica on reception go out of their way to ensure that you have everything you require and sort out any problems that might arise. The standard of cleanliness of the hotel is excellent and the housekeeping staff keep the rooms and bathrooms exceptionally clean. Rosa has been there for the 20 years of our visits and works so hard with a real pride in her work. She is an absolute treasure for this hotel. The restaurant and pool bar staff were friendly and helpful and Manny was invaluable in managing breakfast as he has always done. The restaurant would be lost without him. We had a lovely holiday overall and enjoyed our break as we have always done. The hotel is in the process of being renovated and we feel we need to make the following comments. (as the new spa in the basement was not yet open on our visit this year we cannot comment on that). However the pros and cons of the renovations we experienced in our opinion are: Pros: Public areas and rooms have been modernised with new soft furnishings and the bathrooms have had a much needed upgrade. All very nice. New furniture on balcony, 2 chairs plus one comfortable chair (note, 2 comfortable chairs are needed as the chairs round the table are very uncomfortable to sit on and have no arms). Pool furniture has been replaced and is modern with two curtained day beds if you like that sort of thing. Fridges have been retained, an absolute must in the rooms here, along with tea and coffee making facilities. We understand that extra room mirrors and washing line on balcony are to be replaced too. Great news! Cons: sun loungers have been chosen for cheapness and clearly not sat upon by whoever chose them. They have a hard bar under the seat exactly where you sit and they are totally uncomfortable to use. Maybe ok if you only have two nights here but for a week or longer they are dreadful. They require replacing or a foam topper provided, deep enough not to feel the bar. Whilst the new umbrellas are very effective there are insufficient of them to go round if it is very hot. They are also cheap and the one we used already had one corner that had come away from frame. The pool bar has insufficient protection from the sun if you want to sit and eat there. There is a new wooden canopy but it doesn't cover all the tables and still lets sun through. This stopped us eating there at lunch time. Breakfast - oh dear! For twenty years we had the best ever cooked breakfast here - not anymore. The cooked food ie bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms are served in a mountain of garlicky grease and the bacon is no longer the lovely back bacon we used to get - again all on the cheap. We asked for poached eggs every day and only once were they cooked properly, mainly totally hard as bullets or on one occasion totally underdone. We tried to ask
Stayed just for 4 nights, beautiful location, beach only a few steps across the boardwalk. Everywhere around the hotel & grounds was spotlessly clean, rooms also immaculately clean. Beds really comfy too. Paid a bit extra for full seaview room, definitely worth it! Nothing was any trouble for the staff who always smiled and took time to speak to you, especially Reception (Cecilia) and Pool bar hut staff (Cecilia?). Breakfast was plentiful, lots of choices, buffet style evening meal also great (only had it one night as we were B&B) Lots of nice restaurants and bars in Alvor, which was traditional and not commercially spoilt at all. Perfect for a few days away to relax. Spa also definitely worth a visit, had a fantastic back massage by Corina, she was excellent - thank you 😊 Really enjoyable stay.
A serene haven the minute you step into property from street, our junior suite was heavenly comfortable and spacious and clean. Free water every day and amazing breakfasts, peaceful location. Pools small but ideal for a cooling dip . One of if not best place we have ever stayed and amazingly good value too. Great location as well are happy to walk 20 mins into town, or 5 to near beach.
Lovely spot in Lagos.Been here a few times and now won't go anywhere else. Rooms are nice. Most have a kitchenette .Choice of views from the rooms. Pool is nice. Staff are nice. It's a great location by the Marina but only a short walk from town.So easy access to bars by Marina and restaurants in town.
Beautiful villas. Well maintained with excellent staff and a great buffet breakfast. Staff couldn’t do enough. Quiet location with car parking. Ideal for us to explore the south and a little of the west coast of the Algarve. Nearby Luz is a little gem and quick trip to Lagos for a beautiful narrow little centre with great restaurants and shopping.
ผผู้เข้าพักPlease be careful with what kind of accommodation you book, I made the mistake of booking a “twin room” for my elderly parents, it was the most basic of rooms and the only outside space was a tiny triangle of patio at the front of the flat (see pics) my parents had to ask for seats so they could sit out there. Again this is my fault NOT the hotel but I thought I needed to add this in for people who might be thinking of booking the budget room. Cons - The restaurant - if you want to eat at the restaurant you won’t be able to see what’s available on the menu until you have been seated, which can lead to embarrassment if like myself you're allergic to onions and everything on the menu seemed to contain onion so I had to get up in front of everyone and explain to the staff why I was leaving! I asked if there was an alternative which there was but was told if I wanted this I had to pay, having already paid for half board accommodation I found this to be very unfair as it’s an allergy not a choice.! I would suggest that in future to save any embarrassment you would put up the evenings menu where people can make a choice before entering the restaurant. The room itself was very basic no kettle meaning no options to make yourself a drink when wanted. The shower screen was leaking, had someone come out to fix this twice but it was still leaking and so had to keep putting towels on floor. No shuttle bus from hotel to town/beach as advertised on their website. Apparently it finished at the end of their season which isn’t what it said when I booked the holiday and the hotel was fully booked so really can’t understand why it wasn’t running. As other people have stated in these comments the pool chairs were filthy there were some really awful ones full of black stuff!! Pros- A choice of 2 swimming pools, the complex as a whole was very nice like a little village. The reception staff were very helpful and polite.
My family and I were a little nervous from reading some of the reviews but let me assure you that this hotel is nothing short of WOW. First off we had a flight cancelled so after our second attempt we finally got here, we were all tired and a bit worn out and hungry, we had an amazing welcome at reception and offered something to eat and a cold drink at a very reasonable cost. We were then taken to our room and asked if there was anything else we needed. We booked a 2 bedroom apartment which is clean, extremely spacious and very charming with amazing views. The television in the dining area has some English movie channels and the kitchen has plenty of plates/dishes/glasses/utensils/pots and pans. The bedrooms are very spacious with both bedrooms having amazing views to the sea. I'm quite particular in the surroundings in which I choose to holiday and this resort has class, a rustic charm that I adore with very beautiful views. If you need respite, relaxation and quality time then I recommend this resort highly. If you are a keen hiker and enjoy walking with a view then this is perfect. I do recommend that a car is hired as we have. Will absolutely be recommending this resort to my family and friends without any doubt and will certainly be returning. Happy holidays 😀
Nice hostel ! The place is clean and fresh, also the location is pretty good. Everything is at a walking distance. The owner Tommy is also a great easy going person! The hostel is small, so it's easy to meet other people.
