Forte Kochi

We had a great time at the hotel – we stayed nearly a week, in room 215, a nice large and airy room overlooking the pool area, with a great roomy bathroom. The wonderful thing about the hotel is its location, on princess street, and there are a number of good cafes and restaurants within walking distance, plus ***y of the attractions and walking areas are all very local. The pool area is well laid out, and free afternoon tea from 4pm always had some good treats. From when we arrived, the check-in process was smooth handled by Chacko, who gave us a brief tour, and made sure we were settled in our rooms. All the staff were exceptional, from Mathew who looked after us for Breakfast and evening meals, ***** with Sony and Jobika who made sure we had everything we needed. Food was really good, we met the head chef Gejo Joseph, and nothing was to much trouble. Any variations to a menu or a special dish not on the menu, were sorted quickly, a non spice vegetable curry for example, or a cooling glass of Lasse, and Gulab Jamun, which were not on the menu. Jibin was happy to discuss the merits of *** City, and we found everyone spoke English very well. Whilst we were there we also had meals at the other 5* hotels, and the food at Forte Kochi definitely was the best we had in the area. There were normally some events like dancing or local music most evenings, and the music always stopped before 10pm. Finally checked out early by Shalut and on our way back to the UK, they offered a packed breakfast, and made sure we were organised for transport. We love travelling and this is one of the top hotels we have stayed at in terms of people, location and room. Will definitely be back.

Very comfortable and charming hotel, well located in the historic center of Cochin, and very quiet. The staff were really professional, attentive and charming. We highly recommend this establishment. We will come back with great pleasure

Fantastic location to experience the local culture, entertainment, shopping and an amazing array of cuisine. located close to the waterfront, this heritage hotel is abuzz with foreigners and locals. The service from the front desk, restaurant team and overall are fully committed to guest satisfaction.

We stayed with family for 3 nights the food is excellent, delicious and variety of options are there .We booked the stayed with breakfast included we had lot of traditional dishes like kadla curry puttu ,Iddyapam and North Indian options there breakfast too good .Rooms are clean staff is polite and helpful in every sense .From my point of view it great stay in kochi Lemon tree select .

Lovely heritage hotel in the right area of kochi. Rooms very comfortable overlooking a small pool. Afternoon tea served by the pool and restaurant very good, you can sit around the pool or inside( air con ). Breakfast buffet excellent. The free guided walk was very informative In the morning.

A beautiful 400 year old building in the old part of town. You can walk to where the fishermen catch numerous fish and see the other local historical buildings. The hotel itself felt like a very unique place to stay and was more stunning than the photos I had seen online when I booked it. Our room was beautiful. The court yard with the swimming pool was amazing. The staff were very attentive and helpful and once again, as we had seen in all the hotels in Kerala, very hard working at keeping the place clean and tidy. The food was delicious too. And there was also complimentary afternoon tea and snacks provided out in the courtyard every afternoon. We did the heritage walk in the morning which was interesting and enjoyable and I would recommend. If you want a comfortable stay in a hotel that feels quite magical, look no further. I wouldn’t.

When you walk in you are instantly transported back to old Portugal. It's a lovely small hotel with rooms around a pretty courtyard with a nice small pool. The staff are all really lovely and can't do enough to help. Our room was very traditional and on the first floor. Very comfy bed. We really enjoyed the complimentary afternoon tea and Keralan snacks. Breakfast was very nice. We had two evening meals there - a good menu and good food. During dinner a local lady does lovely traditional dances for about 20 minutes. The hotel also offers a complimentary guided early morning walk around Fort Kochi. This takes in the fish auction on the quayside and the old Dutch cemetery and St Francis's church where Vasco da Gama was buried. (Do tip the guide)

We recently stayed at this beautiful boutique hotel located in the very picturesque Fort Kochi area. The service and the hospitality by the staff was excellent. From the door***, the receptionist Shalu, to the housekeeping staff Subin, every staff member was polite, courteous and professional in their work. The staff at the Jetty restaurant and Mathew were exceptional. The rooms are comfortable, well appointed and tastefully decorated. The breakfast buffet is elaborate and it has something for everyone. The food at the Jetty restaurant was delicious. The evening tea served by the pool adds a special touch.The location is great too. I highly recommend this hotel.

One of the best hotel experiences ever! Abaolutely nothing could be criticised,the staff are amazing.Nothing was ever too much trouble,our needs were anticipated. Rooms very comfortable, clean and excellently serviced.Breakfast by the pool was delightful,choices excellent and well cooked and presented.A very good choice of veggie and non veggie food for dinner again well cooked and presented .Afternoon tea was an unexpected bonus with Keralan flair. This heritage hotel is ideally situated for exploring Fort Cochin on foot,although excellent auto rickshaws are always available outside the hotel.
