We stayed at Ararat Hotel for several days in July 2022 and enjoyed our stay very much. Since we were guests for a week, we were glad that we had a very spacious room with a kitchenette (although we hardly used it). The room was very clean and quiet as it was at the back of the hotel. The breakfast offered a wide enough variety (sausage, cheese, scrambled eggs, rolls, honey, jam, cookies, etc.) so that we had enough variety throughout the day. The hotel is located on a thoroughfare which is not very busy. However, we can't comment on how noisy the rooms on this side are as our room was at the back. In general, the hotel has a very good location: you can walk to the old town in about 10 minutes and to the port in 20 minutes. Parking spaces are available at the house. In the hotel itself there is an Armenian restaurant with very good cuisine where we had dinner twice We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again on our next visit.
I stayed at the hotel for a week whilst on a business trip. I found most the staff to be cold and unfriendly, one particular male receptionist quite rude and it was obvious he didn't want to be there. On a positive note, the hotel is very clean, rooms are a decent size, beds comfortable and the food at the restaurant for dinner is very good and presented well. Although a small menu, everything I ordered was excellent and not expensive. Breakfast was ok and a buffet type, nothing special but had enough variation for most people. I would stay there again 100%, its a very reasonably priced hotel, clean and with good food, the grumpy staff didn't really bother me, but it may bother some...
Spent two nights here during the weekend. Overall good experience, however there are a few details that made the price to quality ratio questionable. First of all, bad sound isolation - if somebody is staying in a room next to you, you’ll hear everything. The water in the shower was not going down the drain properly, therefore you had to regularly turn the water off while showering in order to not flood the bathroom. Also, the bedding is not hypoallergenic - filled with feathers, which triggered my allergies that I didn’t even know I had. So beware if you’re allergic. Breakfast choices are quite limited, especially if you don’t eat meat. Also, an extra of 30€ per night for parking sounds quite ridiculous considering the price you pay for the stay. The location is great, the design and interior is very stylish and unique. SPA area is nice, however a little weirdly organised. To sum up, not a bad experience, however nothing special and quite a few disappointments for the price paid. Probably would look for a different place next time.

We stayed here as part of a group. This hotel has two buildings. The main lobby and access to 4 star hotel and the second building home to offices and 3 star hotel. This apparently is old soviet building/ hotel. We stayed in the latter which actually was quite good. The room was on fifth floor and was a decent size with two comfortable single beds. The pillows were poor but this seems standard in Baltics. The room had good sized TV and desk with kettle and tea/coffee makings - a real plus. There was also a mini fridge. The bathroom was clean and modern. With hot shower. Initially the air con was not working but engineer attended to fix it. It was noisy but worked. The lifts in this building small & dark and jolted when stopping so bit unnerving! The breakfast in main building large buffet selection. Wi fi good. We decided to go to 12th floor restaurant in our block but the lift didn’t seem to work and so we walked up.As we went up you could see the old radiators but the door was blocked and there was oil on the floor so we turned back.
