The building now known as Eight Blessings Inn was originally built in the year 1785 , more than 200 years ago, and was called Mao De Tang. It was a traditional two-storey home. Our goal in renovating this building was to respect the original architecture while also creating a feeling of simplicity, elegance, and warmth.Eight Blessings Inn aims to create a space in which people can experience a simple, natural, and healthy lifestyle, as well as a shift in pace that allows them to relax, recharge, and rejuvenate. The tranquility of the village and the attentive service that we offer at the Inn, enables our guests to experience the abundance of life. The Inn has nine guest rooms: six double and three twin, each with its own full bathroom. Room sizes average 25-30 square meter). Each room is named after attributes that we value: Love, Joy, Peace, Forbearance, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-Control. These names also represent blessings. The Inn was awarded Cultural Themed Homestay by Zhejiang Tourism Homestay Inn Federation in 2023.
"This boutique hotel is a true gem in Jiangnan. The village is beautifully developed, preserving its old-world charm with many historical houses, while blending in modern, cultural, and creative vibes, with well-paved streets, trendy cafés, tea houses, and many boutique shops.
The Inn is tucked away in a quiet part of the village. It’s a over-300-year-old house that has been thoughtfully restored with modern amenities, while carefully retaining the original character of the historical building in a beautiful Wabi-Sabi style. The restaurant’s omakase homemade dinner was delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful. Staying here feels like a peaceful retreat. It's like coming home."
