Zentral gelegen und sehr freundliches Personal! Die Ausstattung ist zwar einfach und schon etwas älter, aber alles vorhanden was man braucht und sehr sauber! Das Frühstück in Buffetform ist ebenfalls zu empfehlen, alles in guter Qualität und es wird auch noch bis kurz vor Ende der Frühstückszeit "nachgefüllt". Kurz, ein super Preis-Leistungsverhältnis, wir kommen gerne wieder!

Stayed for 3 nights to attend the Christmas markets and see a few museums. Was easy to walk to these. Room was quite large for European standards. Breakfast was varied and quite filling. Will stay again when the need arises.

We stayed at this hotel 5 years ago, funky old building (the outlook east), but all the amenities: good bed, large room, great lobby, evening snack included, even a pool table. Well it's all gone, the mattress is beat, the bed frame makes noise, the room full of dust. I ended up putting the mattress on the floor and choked all night. They removed the frig from the rooms. There is no air conditioning, the street noise is serious. They have closed the lobby, no more evening snack, no place to hang out. The breakfast that was once ample and very good is now white bread, corn flakes and dried out scrambled eggs. The reception people are nice but no help, they struggle with any language other than German. $200 a night for what amounts to a dump. Avoid this place you can find better in Kassel for less than half the price.

We visited Kassel as part of a two week Bavarian road trip. The hotel was reasonably priced and in a fair location around 10-15 mins walk from the closest bars and restaurants. It’s also within easy walking distance of Grimm Welt but you’ll want a tram to the Schloss if you’re site seeing. The hotel itself is older than others we stayed in during our trip and the lobby and reception area have real classic charm about them. The rooms are well sized and clean, although could use updating as the decor and fixtures are a little tired in places. Overall the room was spacious and comfortable and the shower was great. Reception staff very friendly and helpful, speak superb English and were very patient with our limited German. Parking is available immediately outside the hotel for just €3 and under cover for €6.50 a night. A decent breakfast can also be booked for €12.50pp. The hotel has a great vibe and is a solid and good value choice if staying in Kassel. We would stay again if returning to the area.

This hotel is located in a sketchy area, with an "adult entertainment club" across the street. I was very closely approached by one man for money and another man followed me into the hotel after obnoxiously whistling behind me. My towel was placed back on the rack after I had used it. This was really gross. Perhaps the most unprofessional thing was when the staff did NOT honour my request for a wake-up call TWICE. One day they phoned over 40 minutes later and on the day of my departure I could have missed my train since they NEVER CALLED. The woman with the blond hair never apologised about these errors and needs to work on her customer service skills. The young man with Syrian heritage was kind and professional. He is the only reason why I am not giving this hotel the lowest rating.

The property was in the middle of the city and action. The room was very plain.

Parkplätze gibt es neben dem Hotel. Die Rezeption ist freundlich, die Abwicklung über unser Travelmanagement noch etwas hakelig. Für Technikinteressierte gewährt der (recht wackelig fahrende) Aufzug mit 3 Geräten eine interessante Reise durch die Geschichte der Notrufeinrichtungen der letzten 50 Jahre. Ich beziehe ein geräumiges Doppelzimmer zur Einzelnutzung. Der Schrank verfügt über Stauraum für mehre Tage. Es gibt zwar einen Safe - aber der ist eher kosmetisch, denn er liegt lose in einem Schrankfach. Das TV-Gerät bietet eine sehr kleine Kanalauswahl in niedriger Bildauflösung. Das offene WLAN ist nicht für Streaming ausgelegt. Das in die Jahre gekommene Bad ist sauber, hat jedoch wenig Ablagefläche. Das Frühstücksbüffet ist schön angerichtet, ich hätte mir beim Aufschnitt etwas mehr Auswahl gewünscht. Jugendstil fasziniert mich seit Jahrzehnten, denn es ist die letzte Kunstepoche, in welcher der Designer oft nicht nur das Haus entwarf, sondern auch alles darin: von der Haustechnik über die Beleuchtung bis zum Besteck. Als "Elegantes Jugendstil-Hotel im Stadtzentrum" definiert sich das TRYP By Wyndham Kassel City Centre auf der Website. Auf die Fassade und die Bauweise trifft das auch zu, aber bei der Inneneinrichtung erweitert man die Definition bis weit in die Nachkriegszeit, was angesichts der eher im Budget-Segment angesiedelten Zimmerpreise auch nicht überraschen dürfte. Sehenswert ist der historisierende Stilmix allemal. Die Zimmer sind absolut abgewohnt, eine Renovierung dringend notwendig.

Es wirkt wie kurz vor der Schließung. Der Fahrstuhl ein Alptraum. Das Bad ist aus den 80gern. Das Frühstück ohne Worte, wenn das Rührei eine Haut hat....Bar geschlossen. Die Gardinen erzählen die Geschichte der letzten Jahre. Keine Steckdose frei für das Ladegerät. Zieht man den Stecker ist alles locker. Das einzig gute ist die Lage, ideal für die Dokumenta.
