From someone who has travelled to many countries, this is one of the best hotels that I’ve ever stayed at. Highly recommended for anyone who is fascinated with tea, or even simply someone looking for an oasis to relax in.

Excellent location, roads were very dangerous as we arrived late at night, coming up four kilometres.

Our experience at the hotel was truly exceptional, especially thanks to the outstanding service. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and taken care of throughout our stay. The food was very good, with very generous portions — you definitely won’t go hungry here! We also really enjoyed the various tea-related activities offered by the hotel, which added a unique and authentic touch to the experience. TCL train experience (price at 100usd person) was good.p That said, the rooms feel quite dated and could benefit from a renovation. While they were clean and comfortable, a refresh would bring the overall experience to the next level. Also, keep in mind that there is no swimming pool on-site. We’d recommend staying one or two nights — it’s enough time to enjoy everything the hotel has to offer without feeling like you’re missing out.

Lovely unique experience in a renovated tea factory. The staff were very helpful and friendly but a bit too formal compared to other properties in Sri Lanka but that could be part of the charm and selling point.

Interesting hotel with colonial feel to it and a lot of history. We really enjoyed the tea plucking tour where we dressed in saris and had a go at plucking tea leaves in baskets. The buffet dinner was an impressive lay out.

Quiet location in the middle of a tea plantation about 30 minutes drive from Nuwara Eliya. Hotel had an age old charm retaining many of its colonial era features. Carpeted and so mostly quiet at night apart from the occasional creaking with guests coming and going. Good wifi and water supply. We needed to use the heater at night but a comfy nights sleep otherwise with blackout curtains. Thank you Patmanathan for keeping our room clean and stocked up. The grounds are well maintained and they have a lovely small garden. They have tea tasting, nature walks, Horton Park guided walks as options for those interested. The Spa had good options too and is very reasonably priced. Highly recommended if you are staying in the area.

Amazing location, amazing staff, amazing set up

The Tea Plantation is beautiful, surrounded by fields of tea. It has a lot of charm as a converted tea factory. It has a nice restaurant and bar off the lobby, and a spa in the basement. Its kind of a trek to get get there, but its worth it if you plan to spend a few days in this region. Its also on the way from Kandy to the National Parks in the Southern part of the island, so it makes a good place to stop for a night along the way. The spa was very nice, we had a couples massage there after breakfast. Overall it was a really nice place to spend a night. The weather is a lot cooler than the costal regions, it was a nice change of pace.

We loved our stay at the heritage tea factory, it was very historical and a real experience in a tea plantation. We enjoyed the selection at breakfast and dinner as choose to go half board. I think it’s lovely the factory has been converted into a hotel. Note it is up the tea plantation and therefore is uphill and isolated from the main town. It’s nice the rooms are still very traditional, although the bathrooms feel a bit dated. They also turn on the old factory generator in the evening to give an authentic experience to how the factory run.

I really enjoy the time spent in the hotel. The service is excellent and Mountain View is so good! Food is nice as well. But, the location is not that convenient + bathroom isn’t so ideal . In general, it worth the price and time. 👏will recommend it to others

The hotel needs renovation, the road is very bumpy to the hotel.

Superb property, very neat and clean, staff is excellent especially the resident manager, chef, restaurant captain, housekeeping staff and tea factory lady. All are excellent dedicated staff and helpful. Food was awesome. Very well maintained by all. Very caring and true hospitality. Look forward to visit again with my children and would definitely recommend to all my friends. All the best!
