"This was such a lovely hotel and the manageress Elli, was completely delightful. It is right in the heart of Kalamata and we were there on one of the busiest nights of the year - White night - but she gave us a room at the back so it was not noisy. Hotel was delightful, quirky and nicely done. Our room was spacious, well decorated, clean and good air conditioning! Breakfast was delicious, home-made Greek delicacies and freshly squeezed orange juice. Elli was not only super-friendly, spoke excellent English but went over and beyond with helpfulness. We had a particular problem and she went out of her way to help us out, don't think we could have done it on our own - so big Thank you. Would only recommend this place"

"Extremely disappointing experience with Belvedere Hotel in Kalamata. We had arranged to host a baby shower for a very close friend and confirmed the venue, date, and number of guests by phone. To avoid any misunderstandings, my wife specifically asked for written confirmation, and she was assured everything had been "noted." It had not. On the day of the event, when she called to coordinate the decoration timing, the person in charge first said she thought the booking was for a different day, which made clear that no proper record had been kept. She then told us we could not use the outdoor area because of a possible chance of rain, even though the forecast showed only 10 percent. It did not rain at all. She refused to offer an indoor alternative, claiming the available space was "too large" for our group, and instead suggested we move the event to the next day simply because that suited the hotel's availability. This ignored that everything was already organized and that several guests were traveling from other areas to attend. When we raised this, we were told that written confirmations are only provided for "large events" and that in our case she was doing us "a favor." We never asked for a favor. We expected basic professionalism and proper coordination, and the hotel delivered neither. No accountability, no attempt at a solution, and no apology. For context, we live in the Netherlands. I had genuinely been pleased to find this hotel, because part of my work involves conferences and industry events, and the region looked like somewhere I might consider hosting them. After watching a confirmed gathering of 20 people fall apart, I would never consider it for anything larger or more important. In the end we were fortunate. A higher category hotel on the seafront accommodated us at short notice, on noticeably better and more affordable terms than what we had agreed here. That contrast tells you everything. Based on this experience, I would not trust this hotel with any kind of reservation."

"Stayed for 4 nights using it as a base to visit Sparta, Mystra & other local historical sites. Very well located a 5 minute walk from the seafront, and a 20 minute fairly pleasant walk into the town centre, the room was spacious and clean with a balcony, there was plenty of available free parking in the side street next to the hotel. Breakfast was typical of the hotels we stayed in in Greece, fairly basic but plenty of coffee & fresh orange juice. Staff were helpful and friendly. I didn't use the rooftop pool, but I did have a look and it was quite nice and clean."
