Liyuan Daoxiang Diaolou Boutique Cultural Homestay (Chikan Ancient Town Scenic Area Branch)

This place is extraordinary. Its the most beautiful Diaolou house converted into a hotel. The amenities are top class and there's cute breakfast every morning. You can even walk to the historic Liyuan Garden. We took advantage of their bicycles, and biked between the rice fields. Four days were not enough!!!

Everyone was very friendly, helpful and politel. We enjoyed the atmosphere of the place, set in the middle of the village in a 100 year old villa. The villa was charming. The room was spacious and clean. Towels were fresh and ean. Breakfast was good.

Beautiful inn in a lovely tranquil location. We had a wonderful stay. The inn itself is absolutely gorgeous and we had a great time just sitting in the lobby area. Service is great; they helped us with our luggage up the second floor (only stairs here). The area is nice and quiet, but convenient - we walked 15 mins to Li Yuan and it was easy to book a DiDi car anywhere. There is a free shuttle bus between Li Yuan, the other Diao Lou villages and Chikan Ancient Town which was very convenient. Breakfast was lovely and so nicely presented, and the nice lady kept telling us we could ask for more.

Really enjoyed spending time in the serenity of this hotel. It's really special to live in and we enjoyed marvelling in the detail of the old features of the restoration. The location is great to explore surrounding diaolou areas. We ended up walking a lot on foot around the area and really enjoyed being in the rural area outside kaiping which is now built up. (Make sure you wear insect repellant!) It's further than kaiping but was easy to use didi to get cars to drive. The staff don't speak english but all were very kind and patient with my basic Cantonese and always trying to be helpful The chef in the kitchen is so kind and attentive always checking if we want more food :) Thanks for a great stay.

Very beautiful place to stay, the host was a great help too provided great recommendations of visit route and restaurants. Would definitely recommend this place to all. The only draw back was post harvest season there are neighbours having open fire burning nearby so the air quality was poor during the night, we can smell the burning smell even after closing all windows.

This is a beautiful homestay in the middle of an ancient village and close to the main road. If you do not want to walk, they have a rental bike. The staff were friendly and helpful. Although they speak little English, Google Translate has helped. They serve a beautiful table service breakfast. Like most farm homestays in China. They do not have a restaurant. But there is a big one in the next village, and it is walkable. Otherwise, the main square will be 10 minutes away by (DiDI) taxi. The homestay is a renovated Diaolou built over 100 years ago. The stairs were shallow and steep because it is the originals. You can read about their beautiful and extraordinary transformation on the wall of the beautiful Lobby. The room was beautifully furnished, and the A/C and WiFi work beautifully, especially in Southern China. The humidity could be unbearable, which is a big plus. The shower was large and clean, with plenty of hot water. There were also a lot of outside areas. Some rooms also include a private patio and balcony. The amenities were first class: a very comfortable bed and fresh sheets. I highly recommend this place to stay if you want to visit Kaiping. I will be back again. Book fast. I am sure most travelers will find out about this gem soon.

Awesome, stay in the middle of the rice paddies. Right in the area for visiting the historical places. Superb design and renovation of the historical school.
