We booked this hotel for our wedding. We stayed for 2 nights, our rehearsal and our wedding night. Both nights we got in quite late so when there was an issue with the room, we decided to just deal with it rather than attempt to remedy it. Our first night, there was about a 2” cockroach on the floor of the bathroom. The sheets were musky, the pillowcases felt crunchy (I wish I was kidding) and overall, the room was less clean than you'd want. On the second day we asked the hotel to clean the room and provide new sheets/towels for us so when we returned everything would be cleaned. We came back to the room around 2am and the room was not cleaned, no clean sheets or towels to be found. At checkout I was asked how the room was, we said it was a bad experience and we will not be returning. The receptionist did not ask ”What happened?” or ”What can we do to make it right?” Instead, he said nothing, and we went on with our day. To put it in other words, this place has no business running a hotel and I would never stay here, nor recommend this hotel to anyone. Bonus: Their ****** is not worth it either, I would go elsewhere if you're planning to stop by for that purpose.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was quiet and clean. The perfect spot to commute from easy access to interstate. This was our first time in Illinois and the hotel and staff helped to make it a good experience. Will definitely stay again next time we are in town.
Very nice clean hotel. bed was comfortable. breakfast was usual type foods. There were a few oddities about the room, ice bucket was in the clothes closet, one small bar of soap and no shower gel, the towel rack was so high on the wall I couldn't reach the wash clothes or hand towels. I would still recommend this hotel and would stay here again. Was also treated as a member with 2 bottles of water, something alot of places are doing away with.
Hotel Management decided the best time to test the Fire Alarm would be before 8am. So, it went off twice before 8am and then continuously from 8:05am to 8:25 am. After contacting the front desk to confirm that it was 'just a test' and not a real emergency, I was told that the company hired to perform the test didn't know how to turn off the alarm. So, what would be your confidence that Hotel Management would be able to protect guests during a real emergency? Never again.
Let’s start with what I liked: the room, and hotel in general, was clean, peace and quiet at night, good value for money, good choice of breakfast daily & friendly staff. Our room also had a desk, microwave, minibar, hair dryer; complimentary shampoo, conditioner and soap; housekeeping every 2 days. What I didn’t like: There are no shelves in the bathroom so I’m constantly coming out of the bathroom to get what I’ve forgotten to take with me. The only available space is the towel rack and the toilet tank lid. The towel rack is right above the toilet bowl so you HAVE to close the toilet cover whenever you flush and then when you open it you got to make sure your towel doesn’t touch the toilet cover! I hope the management looks into moving the towel rack and installing shelves since the bathroom is quite spacious without the sink and any shelves inside to take up space. Check in was a breeze even though we arrived quite late at night. We had to cut our trip to Illinois short as well but there was no fuss or penalties for that and we really appreciate it. If you’re looking at several properties in the Joliet/Plainfield area, I would recommend you to stay here!
Very pleasant surprise! Our son and daughter-in-law, previous tenants in the West Loop of Chicago, purchased a house in Plainfield, IL in the fall. We were sad to leave our West Loop Homewood Suites/Hampton Inn property just off West Randolph Street, but understood the young couple's need for a house in the suburbs with a baby on the way. The Home2 Suites was a well-managed property. Breakfast was superior to the typical Hampton Inn, but not quite Homewood Suites level. The staff was amazing, and the location was great for us; less than 5 miles to the new house. My spouse liked the fitness center as did our older son, a hardcore fitness person and his wife, a triathlon competitor. If a property can, please those 2, the fitness center is in great shape. There are many restaurants in the near vicinity. Due to the property's location on the edge of a local mall , there is not much street noise at night. Quite a change from a near West Loop location with constant ”road races”, sirens and train noises throughout the night. We will miss the West Randolph Street restaurants. We will not miss the noise, the increasing number of ”unhoused people” and security issues.
As I am on a budget, and I needed an inexpensive place to stay while in town visiting family for 2 weeks. This location was very clean, and the staff were very friendly. Their pet relief area is large and they provide poop bags to assist in cleaning up after your pets. The parking is free and conveniently located. The staff including Martha & Cecilia[Ceci] during the day, and Sid at night were a joy to work with. The lobby and my room, BOTH smelled AND looked clean. This is not a fancy, full of frills motel….but those are available nearby, if you can afford them. I only have a couple complaints, 1st is that your room does not automatically come with a mini fridge AND their ice machine is broken indefinitely…(It’s old & replacement parts difficult to come by. The owners are attempting to get it fixed, but if unable WILL NEED to get a new one.). As I had family in town I borrowed a cooler and was able to buy ice cheaply nearby, thus improvising my own mini fridge. My 2nd complaint is that a lot of other guests slam their doors and that the overall building’s sound proofing isn’t very good. However, it IS Quiet at night, and the near by highway noise is very very minimal. Overall, I would 100% consider staying here again. Friendliness of the staff, inexpensive pricing, overall cleanliness, and close proximity (5-7mins drive) to my family, ALL contributed to my 4/5 stars rating.

DdambankerStayed here for a night. Our room was clean and comfortable as one would expect from this chain. The standout item for me was the rubber duck in the bathroom. I thought it was very odd and cute at the same time. I asked the staff about and they said they found that so many people feel joy out of it. In short the real standout is the staff here. Very friendly and they really wanted to make people's day. The rubber ducks are just the symbol for it. Would stay here again and I highly recommend it.
This Best Western is one of the nicest. Friendly staff, nice breakfast and clean rooms. Good location as near 55 and 80. Close to mall, gas stations and restaurants. Very large kitchen area with ability to visit with family. Entrance also has ample seating.
Zero out of zero would never recommend to visit this hotel when I got in my room it was a terrible smell. It was a little bit cold so I turned on the heater. The heater smelled like it was burning so I shut it off and then I got hot so I turned on the AC thinking maybe it might be different And all it was doing was lingering a very moldy smell, and when I went to go look at the AC, there was black marks along the lining of the AC. When I went to go check out the following morning the front desk lady who always works mornings was very rude extremely rude. Wouldn’t even allow me to say anything and asked if I smoked in the room. I told her no which I wouldn’t even have time to because I woke up late and left my doctors appointment which is why I was out there , so I hurried up and pack my belongings and she went to check the room so I can get my deposit back told me there was a lot of smoke in the room I said maybe it’s from your AC unit because it smells wouldn’t even allow me to finish speaking I have asthma I can’t even smoke. And on top of it she said that she’s been having numerous complaints about it smelling like **** in there and she’s been hearing it for days. I stayed one night and I checked in roughly around 6:00 PM left came back right my belongs in around 10 PM extremely rude staff, not accommodating whatsoever. There was a huge red stain in the middle of the room. I found a used feminine product behind the bed. I had to change the lightbulb from the top of the bathroom sink and put it in the lamp in order to see in the room would never recommend. Extremely rude lady every time I visit she tells me I’m not allowed to come back and this time I’ve just had enough this by far was the worse room I’ve been in and was completely discussed and bc I do not have a car I had no option but to stay till the following mornjng. Never will I visit again. Someone needs to check her or fire her for her attitude and accusations. It’s very very extremely rude to accuse someone of smoking the other day there when I wasn’t even there then cut me off when I try to say I stayed one night.
