This hotel is open about 20 years and is located in the Manaira section of Joao Pessoa, right in front of the ocean. The receptionist told me they have about 90 rooms (according to TripAdvisor, the hotel has 136), but only 4 rooms are oceanfront (they charge a little more for these rooms, but I think it was worth it). The lobby is very attractive and was decorated for the Christmas holidays. There is a ground-level pool at the entrance as well as a cute bar. They also have indoor parking available for a nominal fee. Our room was huge—when I booked it, I didn’t realize it was a suite, with a queen-sized bed in the main bedroom and another bedroom with a single bed. It also had a living room area as well as a veranda which looks directly at the ocean. The hotel’s employees are very friendly, professional and helpful. Breakfast is included and was very good. The restaurant is clean and attractive as well. The hotel is well-located in a nice neighborhood near shopping and other amenities. In all, I’d recommend this hotel and I’ll probably stay here again. My only complaint is that this large room only had one towel (we had to ask the chambermaid for another one and she seemed perturbed by this outrageous request).
We stayed 2 nights at this hotel while visiting family in João Pessoa. The location is great, right across the beach in Cabo Branco. Lots of great restaurants nearby. The breakfast options were amazing, but often they would run out of clean dishes and specially cutlery, and we would have to wait until they would bring some more. The staff was alway happy and helpful. We had to pay $15 reais for parking per day, which is fine. They would always bring our car for us and take it to the parking area when we arrived. We did not go to the pool. My biggest complain though was the bathroom. It looked so dirty . It was disgusting. Not we’ll keep at all. Unfortunately I don’t think I’d stay there again because the bathroom looked liked it had not been clean in a long time.
I regret to report that my recent stay at Nord Luxxor Tambau in Joao Pessoa was highly unsatisfactory, and I feel compelled to highlight the following issues: * Service Delays: Service was notably slow and inattentive from the start. * Corridor Odor: A strong and unpleasant vomit smell pervaded the third-floor corridor. * Inadequate Bathroom Supplies: The bathroom was stocked with low-quality, public restroom-style toilet paper. * Poor Bedding Condition: The bed sheets were not only musty but also old and nearly torn. * Room Cleanliness Concerns: Bedside lamps displayed disturbing black spots, questioning the overall cleanliness. * Ineffective Noise Insulation: The room offered little protection from external noise, including street sounds and noises from neighboring rooms. * Room Service Issues: Basic items like yogurt were forgotten in room service orders. * Language Barrier: The staff did not speak English, presenting significant communication barriers for non-Portuguese speakers. * Lack of Essential Amenities: Unavailability of international power sockets and standard toilet paper; guests were directed to a nearby pharmacy for basic needs. * Malfunctioning Blackout Curtain: The room's blackout curtain did not function properly, further detracting from the comfort of the stay. These cumulative issues not only fell far below my expectations for a purported 4 to 5-star hotel but also necessitated a change to another hotel, resulting in additional expenses and inconvenience. The lack of basic amenities and attention to guest comfort significantly impacted my overall experience at Nord Luxxor Tambau and my time in Joao Pessoa.
This hotel opened relatively recently (a little more than 2 years ago). Price-wise, this is an upscale hotel for Joao Pessoa (the least expensive room is about R$750 or $150 USD—the most expensive room is R$3170 or $638 USD). The problem is that it just isn't worth it. Just to put it in perspective, you can find hotel rooms in this city for 1/3 of the price that have rooms of comparable size and quality. Let me say that almost all hotel staff are very friendly (but not all), but the level of service and attentiveness does not correlate with the level they purport to provide. The hotel has 185 rooms, so it's not a small place. I came here with my wife to celebrate a wedding anniversary (I won't tell you how many so as not to shock you). Upon entering the reception area, we were offered a glass of water in cheap disposable plastic cups; I suppose this is better than nothing at all, but not by much. Upon entering our room, we noted that the glass shower doors were not completely cleaned. I know it may be a pain in the ass for the chambermaid to get the soap scum off the glass, but for the price, I would expect at least that. In addition, the hotel has a sign in the lavatory that you cannot flush your toilet paper (!). Many hotels in the city have similar notices, but they do not charge as much as Oceana Atlantico Hotel charges. Since this hotel was recently built, you would think the hotel could have constructed a sanitary system that did not require you to keep your poopy paper in a trash can next to your toilet. The most annoying thing that happened was when we went to have our breakfast (which, like in most Brazilian hotels, was included). The buffet was decent, but not even close to the best we have experienced here in this city. You might even say it was modest. Certain breakfast items are prepared to order, and you must order with the waiter—I know this because I went to the open kitchen and the cook said I must ask the waiter (and there was only one waiter in the room). The waiter was busy chit-chatting with other staff as I tried to get his attention. Finally, my wife approached him to request the breakfast dish I wanted and it took forever to be prepared (which is OK if the kitchen was busy), but then I saw him walking around with the plate from table to table with my dish, when he finally remembered our table and then came and chucked the plate in front of me. Of course, the dish was not prepared the way I requested, so I did not even eat it. In summary, I cannot recommend this hotel and I do not think we will be returning, sad to say.
Café da manhã e localização muito bom. Infelizmente deixa a desejar com as toalhas e não tem nenhuma tomada 110 nem transformador para os clientes, falta preparo nesse sentido, recepção não atende o ramal do quarto e ainda tive que escutar que meu equipamento que não é adequado.... isso me deixou bem chateada e por isso minha avaliação caiu muito.

Todos os funcionários são extremamente educados, simpáticos e prestativos. Especial elogio para Vitória, sempre atenciosa e carinhosa. Localização ideal: em frente a praia do Bessa e próximo a diversos restaurantes e lojas. Voltarei sempre e recomendo Sonia
I would like to start this review by stating that my wife and I loved Joao Pessoa - this hotel only does a diservice to the beautiful city in which it is located, by mistreating their guests and making them feel like they were ripped off, but the city and the beach itself are wonderful places to visit. We arrived to the resort, with reservations paid for online, only to be told at the front desk that we would have to pay 10% more because -they said- my wife made the reservation ”under the senior discount” and we are not senior citizens. My wife assured me that when she made the reservation using the English version of their online web site there was no such reference that the offered rate was for senior citizens. We didn't make a fuss out of this and simply paid (because we could) but right off the shoe, the magic was gone and the front desk people (none who can speak any decent English at all) were in my opinion shady and unprofessional, not a pleasant experience. That same day upon check-in we grabbed our dirty laundry, placed it in a bag, and proceeded to bring it downstairs to the main lobby to be washed, but the front desk person stated that they had no staff to take on these laundry orders (??!!!) and the order would not be ready until a day after we would have checked out. This is not 4-star service (not even 3-star service, mind you). We then decided to take a quick drive around the beautiful town of Joao Pessoa and, upon our return to the hotel later that day, we were met with a jammed-packed, chaotic parking lot scene where there was nowhere to park, even though we had specifically asked (before making our reservations) whether the hotel would guarantee a secure area to park our rental SUV. We had to wait some 10-15 minutes until another staff member came to the parking lot to move a vehicle so that we could park ours - again, not 4-star service, not even close. Back to our room on the top floor, we immediately noticed the air conditioning was not working properly - it was not cooling down to at least 24C and we knew this because we always bring a thermomether on every trip we do) and as much as we'd wanted to get the comfort temperature in the room that we paid for, at full fare, by then we were so disgusted with the staff and their very poor service that we decided to wing it - we were only planning a two-day stay at this resort anyway and we just didn't have any faith in the support that we would get from the hotel staff in the event we'd place a complaint about the faulty room AC unit. Again, not a 4-star experience. The next morning we went downstairs at barely after 9am and asked for two beach chairs and a beach umbrella only to be informed that they were out of beach umbrellas, which in itself makes it impossible to enjoy the beach under the scorching hot temperatures of 100F+ during carnival season. We went to the hotel next door and a very nice guy rented a very large umbrella and two beach chairs, $3 USD out of pocket. B

Entao fui a esse hotel agora no dia 17/2/24 estávamos entre dois hotéis e acabamos escolhendo esse , bem localizado, alguns funcionários bem solicito, limpeza dos quartos mnt boa , café da manhã e terceirizado, mas é sim mnt bom , tem varanda que, no meu vê precisam de alguns reparos mas nd que não me deixe voltar lá , gostei bastante, ficamos 7 dias no ap tinha fogão , banheiro grande , dois quartos com excelente espaço
