Cap Lamandou Hotel

My recent stay at Cap Lamandou Hotel in Jacmel was nothing short of enchanting. From the moment I arrived, the breathtaking ocean views from my balcony set the tone for a relaxing getaway. Waking up to the sight of the Caribbean Sea shimmering in the morning light is an experience I will cherish forever. The hotel grounds are charming and well-maintained, offering a peaceful retreat just a short walk from the vibrant city center. The outdoor pool was a highlight, providing a refreshing escape with its scenic backdrop and comfortable loungers. I particularly appreciated the daily housekeeping, which kept my room spotless and stocked with fresh towels. Dining at the on-site restaurant, La Terrace, was a delight. The breakfast buffet offered a generous spread of fresh fruits, hot dishes, and exceptionally strong coffee—a perfect start to the day. Dinner featured delicious local cuisine, with the fresh seafood, especially the "poisson gros," tasting as if it came straight from the ocean. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, always greeting me with a smile and eager to ensure my comfort. Safety was another major plus; the property feels secure and well-monitored, allowing for a worry-free stay. While the walk down to the beach involves some stairs, the proximity to the water and the option for snorkeling and diving right nearby made it worthwhile. The free Wi-Fi in public areas and the comfort of the air-conditioned rooms added to the overall convenience.

Jacmel is a beautiful place. This hotel was full of very warm and helpful staff. The history was in the walls, it’s a very nice hotel. I stayed all 14 days and I enjoyed my stay. WiFi was faster during morning.

During my stay, I only had internet access the first night I arrived. That same night, I was unable to communicate with anyone, which caused my friends and family to panic, thinking something had happened to me. When I asked the staff what was wrong with the internet, I received vague and inconsistent explanations. By the second night, I was determined to let my friends and family know I was safe. I asked the front desk if they could help me make a local call, but I was told it could only be Digicel numbers, not Natcom. Even then, they were unable to get through. Eventually, a gentleman kindly connected my phone to his private internet service so I could communicate, and I had to pay him for that access. I do not recommend this place to anyone who needs reliable internet service. The place itself is not bad, but the internet service is extremely poor.
