I am not exaggerating when I say this is the greatest place I have ever been in my life. A friend recommended Hanafubuki to me, and I have made a point to tell everyone I know about it. The below is long, but worth reading I promise! It's located a ways outside of Tokyo on the Ito Peninsula, and there were almost no other tourists there. Half of the guests staying there were themselves Japanese. It was very nice as a reprieve from the bustle of Tokyo. The grounds themselves are gorgeous, like out of a storybook, the onsen hotsprings are amazing (but very hot!) and there is no time limit to use them. They each have a light outside that will be on if they are in use, so it's very easy to tell which are available. They are also private, so if you are with the other gender or have tattoos you can still use them, unlike some of the public onsens in Japan. We chose to stay in a traditional Japanese-style room, which involves sleeping on tatami mats on the ground. This was much more comfortable than I expected! The food was amazing, I still cannot believe that much food was included in the nightly price. The price included a delicious and very hearty breakfast (we chose the European-style, but there is also Japanese-style with fish) and a Kaiseki dinner, which is a traditional Japanese meal with around 10 courses. It was a tremendous amount of food but also the presentation was stunning and it tasted like we'd paid $200 for the meal. We still can't get over how wonderful it was. I also got a massage, which was one of the best massages I've ever had. The staff in general was incredibly kind and hospitable. Since this is located outside of Tokyo, be prepared that not everyone speaks English but it wasn't an issue at all and they were all lovely. You can stay here all day without leaving and be perfectly happy, but there is also a nice hike to a suspension bridge by the ocean nearby, as well as a teddy bear museum! We live in California but would come back here as soon as we are physically able to. 10/10.

This was probably the best experience i had during my visit to Japan. The ryokan feels authentic yet luxurious, the service id amazing. The personnel speaks english very well. The room was just what we wanted, very spacious, tatami floors, a balcony with a city view. We even had a little bath that you could fill with water from the hot spring.
The dinner was exquisite, very authentic and delicious. The breakfast was just as good, although the amount of fish dishes might be a little overwhelming for foreigners.
The best part though was obviously the onsen. The cable car that takes you to the onsen really added to the experience. We had the chance to go in the evening and in the morning. Both times there were no other people. It was raining in the morning and i definitely recommend going to the onsen while it rains if you get the chance.
After checking out we were offered a ride to the station by the owner, and we had a nice chat on the way.
So i absolutely recommend this ryokan, i wish we stayed longer
ผผู้เข้าพักThis ryokan is small, clean and lovely and warm. Our room (Oshima Room) was large with new tatami mats and lovely comfortable futons. The breakfast included in the room rate was delicious and home cooked in the traditional Japanese way. There are two bathhouses and we used them both on our two night stay. They are both clean and well maintained and you book them for private use. Close to supermarket and restaurants, it is walking distance t the Izu-Kogen railway station. The hosts were friendly and drove us to the start of the Jogasaki Coast Walk and Mt Omaru. Would definitely stay here again. There are many attractions in the area
ผผู้เข้าพักIt is locate in the hill, takes about 10min to drive up or down to the nearest 7 11. Check in was easy. Onsen facility is great. Perfect for a couple trip. Kitchen is great, we drove to supermarket that is like 20min away for some grocery to cook at home. Very relax area.

Good:
1. Clean and traditional room
2. Private onsen bath
3. Free drink machine
Neutral:
1. 30 mins walk away from station
(Good if you miss the last bus, bad if you hate/ can’t walk so much)
