Our first four days of our holidays with great friends started at this marvellous hotel. The owner Todd did everything in his power to make our trip special. The work done to restore this building was unbelievable and done first rate. Our room was clean and comfortable and the common areas were outstanding. The neighborhood was quiet and the neighbours were so friendly to a couple of seniors from Canada. It is located in the Treme neighborhood and is close to everything from the French Quarter to Bourbon Street. You could walk or cab for reasonable fares. Some great restaurants around to make sure you were filled up with the local delicacies. My wife and I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to visit New Orleans. Not your usual hotel but the most awesome hotel. Todd thanks for everything and say hi to your neighbours and Milton from Shannon and Larry
KKathy KBeautiful decor! Immacuately clean! 19th century charm! However, the best part, by far, was our hostess, Melissa. A genuine Southern Belle, she warmly greeted us and was available for local insight on where to go and how to get there. She had such a sweet spirit that it brought tears to my eyes when it was time to leave. I'll never stay anywhere else in New Orleans. She kept the parlor spotless and cozy, the perfect place to have coffee in the morning while we planned our day and read a book while my husband took a nap in the afternoon. The slow jazz that played on the antique-looking radio and the sparkling chandeliers were just the cherry on top!
Ssandyjackson2017Ignore the 1 star reviews unless you're the type of traveler who wants to spend a lot of money for an antiseptic hotel with no history or character, where you're identified simply by your room number. This little bnb has it all. Quaint charm, great convenient location, wonderful hosts, free street parking (a rarity), safe and quiet neighborhood, delicious freshly prepared breakfast each morning, and an atmosphere that makes you feel welcome and at home, where you can sit on the expansive front porch and leave your hectic day to day life behind. I almost always travel solo, by preference, and seek out accommodations that provide safety, ease of getting around including convenience to public transportation, and a close proximity to places I want to go in the area and sites I want to see. And above all, a place where I can relax and unwind. Fairchild House ticks all of those boxes. It's a place I'll be returning to.
