"We felt uneasy when we arrived to a property that looked neglected from the outside. When we opened the door we were shocked by clutter, chaos, disarray, and a stale odor. We arrived exactly at 4, just as we had texted in advance, and we were unexpected. We were taken through the owners’ home to our room, and we were incredibly overwhelmed by a chaotic environment. The man who greeted us was rude and a misogynist. I was offended. The room was filled with clutter, stuffed toys, papers, 25 year old magazines. We are early risers, as are many adventurous AK vacationers, and requested an early breakfast. We only received a photo of what we missed, and it did not look enticing. I sent a request for breakfast reimbursement and received a series of harassing replies: Rate difference? Are you serious ? King room upgrade is free of charge We did not request an upgrade, but our room was not comfortable. It is in dire need of cleaning and updates. Dear Lori, thanks again for being our guests. We travel too. just a few extra honest words. We have been doing this for 20+ years. We are ready to exit. We both have some Heath issues. Husband is a disabled Vet from Vietnam era. We do what we can to accommodate travelers needs. Nevertheless we don’t really need this at this stage of life. It’s the kind souls of our return guests each year that lured us into another season. Oh well such is life. If you decided to post a negative review. You certainly can. You are entitled to your opinion. We will counter with management response. Keep in mind requesting a refund of breakfast fee after getting a $72 +value up room upgrade is highly unusual. One’s opinion often reflects who they. We didn’t do anything wrong. Thank you for visiting our 49th state. I have blocked the number after a dozen or so harassing texts, but I caution others visiting Homer. Stay elsewhere."

"On the edge of Homer Town, pay attention to the short check-in time and almost missed it. The extreme day is still bright, the older hotel is still bright, but the internal organs are complete. The town is really comfortable, there is a paper at the front desk that recommends the restaurant in the town is very reliable, and there are many messages!"

"These cabins are beautiful, very clean and well equipped. We booked 6 months ahead of our stay and the communication was easy including our check in on arrival. The views are spectacular and with the location just a short drive from the spit of Homer was perfect with a good choice of local restaurants. Our cabin was Moose located at the end which was next to the hot tub. We didn’t use it although when other travellers used it late at night it was a little noisy but that was the people not the hot tub itself. The cabins are well maintained, cosy and warm and we had a great stay. Thank you so much, we would definitely recommend this accommodation."
