Overall, the hotel and room were clean and comfy. The bed was nice, but the pillows were pancake flat. In room 157, the tub is dirty and degraded beyond a proper cleaning. This made the entire room feel a bit gross. The door was sticking to the point of needing to give a hard shoulder bump to get in and good luck closing it from the inside of you're short or physically impaired. Not much sound privacy between rooms. Breakfast was ok. It was ok for a 1 night stay, but I wouldn't recommend any more than that.
Wife and I stayed for one night while we visited relatives in Holland. Room and overall hotel were clean, comfortable and met all travel needs. Staff was courteous. I would give the hotel 5 stars except for two issues. First is the room lighting. It is poor. The room is shadowy and dark at night, even with all the lights on. In all honesty, the room deserves better as it is large and comfortable. Second is that the breakfast area closes at 10 am on the weekend. I know this is probably a non-issue to many, but I always appreciate the ability to eat breakfast late on the weekends while traveling. Other than these, SpringHill Suites Holland checks all my boxes under travel accommodation needs!
We stayed 2 nights at the Avid Hotel, Zeeland, Michigan. IHG manages the Avid line of Hotels. These hotels are different. It is a trendy Boutique hotel. The rooms are large. There are things missing that you might expect from a hotel. There is no closet, just hangers on the wall. The furniture in the rooms have no drawers. We have stayed in a couple of these trendy hotels, the Marriott Moxy, and another one we can't remember the name. There is a gathering area in the lobby for people to get together and talk. There is no carpet in the rooms, just flooring that looks like wood, but most likely is imitation wood. The WIFI worked great. We had no problems streaming movies. There is no laundry services like a washer and dryer. Coffee is available 24 hours a day. They have a breakfast. It is called ”Grab N Go.” I will post pictures of the breakfast items available. There was cold cereal, Instant Oatmeal, hot water, milk, bagels with cream cheese (toasters available) nutella, butter and jam, granola bars, cinnamon graham crackers, fruit (oranges and apples), muffins (apple, blueberry or banana nut), Chobani Yogurt, juice (orange, apple, cranberry, and lemonade. Only cranberry was working during our stay. Also hard boiled eggs, toppings of chocolate chips, granola, and cranberries. The beds were a little soft for my wife. I thought they were perfect. There is a swimming pool. There is a gym with an exercise bike, elliptical, 2 treadmills, weights, and Total Gym (like home gym). There is plenty of free parking. The drinking fountain has filtered water to refill water bottles. The lights in the restroom come on automatically when you walk in. In the middle of the night when you might get up to use the restroom, the bright lights are little much. But overall, this Avid hotel is truly a clean, comfortable place to stay with no frills, but we enjoyed our stay and would stay here again in the future. We would prefer a more complete breakfast, but the one here was adequate and there are plenty of restaurants in the area.
We enjoyed our stay. The room was very clean. The staff was very responsive. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was tasty, hot and filling. The facility was recently remodeled. The room was nicely furnished and everything worked. It was very comfortable. We look forward to staying here again.
Hi, I recently stayed one night in this hotel and the experience was one of the worst i ever had .Checked in to the hotel and the room smelt very bad .I had to contact reception to get room freshener and odor remover. The micro oven did not work, television did not work and you may not believe it but even the air conditioner did not work. When we complained about it they said they will inform maintenance next morning and there is no other room available . Due to the hot and very uncomfortable weather inside room my wife and kid both started feeling really sick and eventually when maintenance team could not get the A.C working we had to shift to another room in a different floor carrying all our luggage past the midnight. Positives - we liked the breakfast options and could have been a nice stay for one night if the room was in working condition
PP3169MHrobertbI checked into this hotel and was putting in a room where a window would not close so I proceeded to the front desk to get my room changed. No problem there I did notice that the floors are sticky while walking around, The smell of curry filled the hallways of the entire hotel. The carpets were absolutely disgusting. The people at the front desk were rude and never gave me a wake up call as requested. Also housekeeping was terrible. They left my bed a mess, but did tuck in the sheets, and they have the worst pillows I've ever slept on. Do not stay at the hotel unless you cannot afford to stay somewhere else. One last thing the breakfast is not even a breakfast. It's a brown paper bag with crackers and water. You're lucky if you get a yogurt.
RRobert CI am a Lifetime Diamond member and frequently stay at Hilton hotels. During my stay at the DoubleTree in Holland, Michigan, I opted for the AAA breakfast-inclusive rate, which I typically do not choose. As a Lifetime Diamond member, I also receive a $15 daily food and beverage credit, but in this instance, I expected breakfast to be fully covered, with the exception of the tip, based on my booking. Unfortunately, the hotel incorrectly billed me for breakfast, then attempted to credit me based on my Diamond status, which is not what I had booked. I approached the front desk to resolve the issue, and the situation became unnecessarily frustrating. The staff member I encountered, who seemed very young and inexperienced, appeared completely unable to handle a basic billing discussion. When I attempted to show him my booking confirmation on my phone, he interpreted it as an aggressive move and ran to the back, visibly upset. It was clear that he was not equipped to handle even minor customer service inquiries. Perhaps he would be better suited to a non-customer-facing role, such as housekeeping or back-of-the-house operations. Ultimately, I had to call Hilton directly to resolve the billing issue, which should have been a simple fix. As for the hotel itself, it is substandard, barely above the level of a Ramada Inn. It appears to be poorly maintained, possibly in receivership, and clearly lacks adequate staffing. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this hotel unless significant investments are made in both its facilities and staff training.
WwmsxbetsmxccgoliWonderful staff and location. I go to Holland twice a year to see family and have stayed in many of the hotels. This was my first visit at the Quality Inn. I was pleasantly surprised. Jason was so great at the front desk. Our room was clean and very comfortable. Location can't be better to explore both Holland and it's super quick to Saugatuck from here. I never eat breakfast at the hotels. I prefer to support local restaurants but the coffee was good and the breakfast area was displayed nice and very clean. If you're looking for great value in a great location this is a great option. The outdoor pool needs some work but it looks like it's next on their list to work on. Thank you to everyone that works here. Your kindness was appriciated.
